I have a new in box Pulsar 2Meter 2S in the box ready to ship. I paid $440 plus shipping from Esprit Models. I will let it go for $375 which includes shipping Fed-X in the U.S. PayPal prefered. Can the Pulsar be winch launched?

Im not sure, the plane will only wiegh 17 to 18 oz ready to fly

According to another thread the design of the Pulsar was primarily as an E-Sailplane.

Nonetheless, Esprit Models says: "Pulsar 2S competition 2m saiplanes has been developed in response to requests for pure sailplane version."

Pure sailplane. Hmmm.

Is there a towhook with the kit and/or a hole in the bottom of the fuse?

Doesnt seem to be a tow hook with the kit. However I flew a very light 2 meter plane around the 21 to 23 oz range and flew it off the my winch in several contest and also hand-launched it a bit to catch thermal passing by.

I own two versions of the Pulsar and I wouldn't attempt a winch launch with either of them unless I wanted someone to film a fast destruction of an otherwise very good model e-sailplane. The wing is NOT designed for it.

I have a 1.8 pulsar and a few Topazes. I'm no expert but, the wings sure look close to each other. Ribs are capped with carbon fiber...but I can't see the spar on the Pulsar.

The spar on the Topaz is hollow carbon box.

Hank McDaniels has been flying his off the winch for the last month at the Buzzards with no problem. The wing in my opinion is extremely strong and with common sense can be easily winch launched. Any plane can be broken if care is not exercised. This wing is a carbon D Box construction and is stiff as a board.

Ok, I looked at the Topaz wing and the Pulsar wing...looks like the spar is wood capped with carbon on the Pulsar. The Topaz is a carbon spar. I'm with Aussie...anything can be winched in moderation ( Hey, Thats what my girlfrend tells me about drinking..lolol)

My Pulsar went up a high start many times without a problem.

Yep--I was launching my DoveII/Fling 2M Wing (all wood wing, aluminum joiner) on a winch a couple weeks ago with no problems. You just need to go easy on the pedal.

I'd take a closer look. It's a carbon d-box and carbon capped ribs. It's fine for winching. Along with Alto's, Ava's, Danny's, Topaz's, Organic's all of which have the exact same construction.
