Hi guys i'm a noob to these threads been out of the hobby for over 10yrs,came across these foamies and decided to give them a try first one i built was EWO's got amit bipe but got into a bit of trouble doing hovers to close to the ground for my experience lol. I had already decided to build the lil ripper as my next at the moment it weighs 4oz with wings and tailplane glued but my gear is on the heavy side. Will be using a 2208 1100kv motor 25amp controller and 3s 1000 lipo hoping this will be ok

Colin,
Love your paint job! I used to ride motorcycles, still a sucker for a flamed-out paint scheme. You're gonna love the Ripper. Shaun did a great job with this design. It's one of my all-time favorites. Got my plans printed for a 40" version, and plans in the works for a 45-48" profile version on the build list.

Your going to love this plane colin, I take mine out as a first choice plane when I fly as its such a floaty plane and a great trainer(on low rates) for getting into the 3D side of flight.
Remove the DR and it opens up a whole new plane as the roll rate is very fast and still maintains its floaty feel, rudder authority is superb too you can almost link it to a handbrake turn on your car as it will spin a 180 with a flick on the sticks.
Thanks again to 3DMON for the design release.

Finally got my 40" plans laid out on posterboard for more permanent keeping. Getting the foam cut out now. If I follow my usual pattern, it'll take a week or two to get everything cut and assembled.Using this motor http://www.graysonhobby.com/catalog/...tor-p-195.html and 3s 1000mah. It'll swing a 10x6 prop really well, should be a good fit. I just keep coming back to this design! Also thinking about installing LG, but not sure about that yet. I'll post some pics as it gets further along.

Rough Cut on 40"

Got everything cut out and just pinned/taped up to see how it looks and fits. Lovin' it in this size so far! Hope to paint and glue this weekend. I'll update if and when.

Looking good! I'm sure it's gonna fly great. I really should do a 40" version too.
