It's 5:30 AM SAST, J. Never sleeping must be the secret to your model throughput!!

Tried some throws on a not-so-good hill in some not-so-good air last Saturday. After twenty or thirty throws, and taping quarters here and there, and finding out at the end that the battery had slipped, I decided to take it back the shop and re-do. Since my wing was some different proportions than the true Sally, I had applied a CG calculator on the original design, and translated the 25% MAC CG point of the original to the wing I ended up with, measured at 31mm. But maybe that, or the slipped battery (I don't know at what point of my throwing that the battery slipped), didn't make for good trim.

Then I got knocked on my a** with some virus crud on Sunday, just recovering today.

More to come... but the winds aren't smiling for this weekend -- a balmy October weekend with temps in the 80's It should be about 65! And blustery windy!!

My avatar is not a witch for nudding...
It all happens during the witching hour!

OK, so it was daylight when I tried to spray the latest Mylars...
A light weight ZAlly wing and the Zipper wing (real one)
I decided to spray outside...
The light breeze caked it in dust and blew the rest of the spray away!
So, I think I'll head back inside in future!

Lets see what we get done tonight!
Hooowwwooo...

Tnx, Sean. I used this calculator: http://www.inlandsloperebels.com/Calc/cgcalc.html I'm sure they all use basically the same formulas.

Maybe this weekend will be a good time to work out the bugs on the flat.

I see you have kept your side of the bargain....
I better get going!
We had some friends over tonight. so nothing got done!
I've got some Mylars painted up and ready for two sets of wings.
So I'll be bagging the Zipper and ZAlly wing tomorrow...
If the wind doesn't blow!

Then Jim's fuz,
And then finally......
Yours!!
That should be about mid week!

Yeah, it was pretty pitchy, even with only about 2-3mm of elevator. Had to give it a fair amount of up trim so it wouldn't hit the deck when I released it, and then I'd have issues with it flying up and over my head at launch. The up trim needed told me nose heavy (right?) so I taped a couple of quarters near the tail. The battery coming loose in the nose may have moved even more weight forward.

Don't worry, I'll get it worked out. Maybe some time tomorrow for some throws.

Excellent thank you. I'm bagging the wings separately, Not sure why though. Might be a lack of bagging space.
Here's one side so far.

Dammit, I just realised that I have bagged the first wing and I forgot to round the corner on the leading edge. Seriously where is my mind. Oh well, i have templates, I'll cut a new one.
