Johan here is something...
Not much, but im trying to keep up!
The wing cores are done.
I assembled two half's / 900mm wing.
Since I have the tendency to land always on the only stone that exists at any slope...
I did a 2mm ply stringer just like a board... I believe this way at least the wing has something in the midle that keeps it from chewing forward in case of any misfortune...
The total wing weight so far is 48g, lets C how my epoxy layup contribute to a weight record!!!?
Going to make the leading edge strips and cut the film for the wings white and red paint job hopefully over the weekend?
Here are some pics, nothing interesting so far... don't give up on me yet...

It's the Banana I'm worried about!
The Sally has a "mouldy" feel about her (Heavier version) and is pretty slippery...
She'll keep you on your toes!
Was your weight of 48g including the 2mm ply?
The foam we are using is a high density one, but weighs +-65g for the 900mm wing (naked)
I just can't let Dave get the better of me!
Jim will just have to bear with me....
Whilst I lay up a light one!
I've stolen Sean's 50g fuz... The lightest one so far! ( on the pretext that I was going to spray the blemishes for him)
Now he's not getting it back until I can put this porky issue to bed!
Looking good Layer!

Im using regular white foam...
Blue foam is more dense and heavier!
I have light spackle her, sand it, glued the ply, more spackle to get a good middle section more sanding, and the end weight is 48g!
The wing cores where initially 13/15g=28g total. 20g is all the stuff that went in.
I believe U can do a record using White foam!
The wing is smooth now, regular white foam tends to get air holes all over...
Epoxy this wing hopefully will be perfect for my standards...
The only concern is the vacuum... imploding the foam will create to a new airfoil...
Final weight??? Work in progress...
Im worried with the Banana peeling to!... quantum leap for me...
Szally started the composite fever!!!
And there is a 3mtr almost scale model in progress to...
There are toys for all events!

all white is good for me, got something in mind for her
was just joking about the ....... really no hurry for mine
but you better be sure and finish Bakkie's first, he's a bit bigger than me

I can wash my hands of that one!
Sean has her and is putting the servos and linkages in!
Bakkie is in East London,
So we can relax!

She's in the bag Jim!
Not without mishap...
trying to sand the Mylar edges to conform better...
I sanded the wrong side!
Then whilst spraying the mould and Mylars...
My wife opened the garage door with her remote and..
The dust sheets blew onto the wet paint!
Anyway, It's all coming along!

All the workers!
The goblins are very unreliable!
Hey Jim, your wing came out great!
I still need to trim her back, but she moulded well to the leading edge even if the Mylar did slip slightly forward.
How does one get the tips to mould over a 3d contour???
I sanded down the Mylar edges, and it helps, but unless the material stretches...
You'll never get it right!
I'll have to work on it....
Till I get it right!
The weight is typical of the ZAlly characteristic!
Untrimmed he weighs 170g, which I think is not to bad for the type of lay-up!

You could try trimming the mylar a little back from the tip. Then put a piece of peel ply over the mylar and the entire tip. You'll still have to spray some touch-up paint on the tip afterward, but you'll get a better finish to the fiberglass without all the wrinkles.

That's pretty much what I've been doing, but I'm trying to minimise the gap..
The peel ply works well!
I put a 3" strip all round. It stops the breather material sticking to the lay-up.
It also seem to absorb some of the bleed resin too.
What is the difference between fixing a 6mm or 3mm gap?
You still have to sand and spray both!
I've just sprayed Sean's Fuz....
I don't think it's gonna weigh 50g anymore...
