Sean, I can have a look at this switch while I am in CH if you wish! There is a big empty hole in my suitcase after posting the boxes!
Maybe I can bring you a box of them to shelf at our friendly Golden Cafe!
Hey Alain...
Thanks for that!
Perhaps you should!
They don't want to ship to ZA...?????
Ive asked Cherisse in San Diago to get me one and send it back with Andrea who will be thee next week.
But...
Meanwhile, our bagging operation is on hold!

They have any and every item related to slope flying on their shelves...
And if you ask nicely...
They even set up your plane free of charge!
You don't even have to purchase it from them..

The loss of Zally1,
"Loosing" the slipper gate key,
My wife abandoning me with the kids to go visiting family in Jhb,
And..
Some generally lethargic behavior!

Daron's wing has been masked and ready for spraying!
I would like to finish the wing and cast another fuz this weekend...

Sooo..
I'm slow on the uptake!
Well done Alex!
I knew there was some worth to having you along for the ride!
It works!
A clamp on a separate intake works just as well!
I get a constant vacuum at any pressure I need.
The pump has to run continuously, but it seems to remain cool over the 1 hour test period!
We're back in business

For the time being...
Until I can sort out a propper vacuum regulator!

I can't remember if this has come up before, so sorry if it has.

You could easily build your own switch using a vac advance from a distributor and a micro switch. The ones I've built have been more accurate than my expensive JW one (~.7" Hg vs 2-3"Hg).

The webpage I used is here.

Thanks flyonline
That is pretty much what I had set-up...
I was using some elastics to try and control the lever extension.
I see from the link that they use a fairly hefty tension spring on the vac advance with a bolt adjustment.
Perhaps it is worth re-looking....
Thanks

This is probably a better setup, easier to adjust and make.

Hope that helps.

I'll look into it, as I would prefer not to run the vac continuously overnight..

That's it. I smoked a fridge pump running it continuously, and that was only for an hour or two.

My fridge pump runs for 24hrs at a time no probs, been using my current one since I started bagged and shes still going strong.

I make sure I keep it oiled and in the hot summer months I run a fan over it to keep its temp down a bit.
