I knew there was some worth to having you along for the ride!
It works!
A clamp on a separate intake works just as well!
I get a constant vacuum at any pressure I need.
The pump has to run continuously, but it seems to remain cool over the 1 hour test period!
We're back in business

For the time being...
Until I can sort out a propper vacuum regulator!

I can't remember if this has come up before, so sorry if it has.

You could easily build your own switch using a vac advance from a distributor and a micro switch. The ones I've built have been more accurate than my expensive JW one (~.7" Hg vs 2-3"Hg).

That is pretty much what I had set-up...
I was using some elastics to try and control the lever extension.
I see from the link that they use a fairly hefty tension spring on the vac advance with a bolt adjustment.
Perhaps it is worth re-looking....

I'll look into it, as I would prefer not to run the vac continuously overnight..

Goo day all!

Landed safely in CH. Got a half hout train ride and went to..... the post office!
Both boxes are on their respective way and I will follow them up with their tracking number.

ETA is three open days, so normally Wednesday at the latest they shoudl arrive!

Johan send me a picture or part number I can look for in the shops around here.

That's it. I smoked a fridge pump running it continuously, and that was only for an hour or two.

My fridge pump runs for 24hrs at a time no probs, been using my current one since I started bagged and shes still going strong.

I make sure I keep it oiled and in the hot summer months I run a fan over it to keep its temp down a bit.
