What's going on? Last summer, you would post something here and in a matter of minutes, it would get lost 2-3 pages back. Now it sooo quiet, where's everybody?

Love the ability to go from stable to insane with a bump of the sticks. ;-)

That flies very well. I'm interested in the fact you are flying with stock PIDs though. Have you ever tried flying with simonK based ESCs? If you do, and also up the speed in the code;

Code:
 /**********************************    I2C speed   ************************************/
    //#define I2C_SPEED 100000L //100kHz normal mode, this value must be used for a genuine WMP
    #define I2C_SPEED 400000L //400kHz fast mode, it works only with some WMP clones
Then you can leave your PIDs at default except for the P settings on pitch and roll - which you can bump up from 4 all the way to 5.5 or even 6.5 depending on your setup. This has the result of making the quadcopter feel even more stable and locked in without reducing maneuverability at all.

I tried the kirby esc - didn't make any noticeable difference on my Scarab. The stock ESC they come with seems pretty good.

On my test copter I do run Kirbys and there is a definite improvement over the original ones I had. Sharper response and nicer noise...

But I can't fly like CJ above - maybe it would be noticeable for him.

You should notice an improvement in throttle responsiveness pretty much straight away if you swap from standard to SimonK flashed ESCs and then when you up the P in the PID settings you will feel an improvement in the 'locked in' feeling that makes your quadcopter hold whatever position it's supposed to be in, which is also a very nice effect.
Even if you aren't a sports flier, being able to increase your P settings without getting feedback oscillations is very worthwhile.

Although clearly plenty of people have quadcopters that fly very well indeed with standard ESCs.

I think it has more to do with the fact, that Alex has his own forum at www.multiwii.com
Most activities happen there...

Economy has hit me hard. But I think most everything about mulitwii that can be said has already been said here. Most of the questions posted could be answered with just a little searching. People are getting tired of saying the same stuff over and over.
