its about 2.5oz...so kinda heavy. its also 21mm so it wont fit in a stock gws 20mm mount......its all custom baby easist thing to do, would be to find a 5100-5500 kv 20mm inrunner........ on the cut down wattage, its 23A on 4s, about 350W.

OK - 850's arrived this morning and of course - I jammed them straight into the Electrolyte.
Still really nose heavy, so we're going to have to add tail weight.
Based on CN's weights, my fan is much lighter so I would've needed to install it much further back. A heads up for V2.
Now to make sure they haven't been sitting on the shelf too long as MT got one and it doesn't seem to be doing well on cycle tests.

That 2S Hyperion of mine is more like a 650mah! I thought my charger might be faulty, but I got a new one and the readings are the same. Got some new nano-tech 1000mah 2S packs. On the first cycle they produced more than 1000mah
Good luck with the flight!

I went to fly the Electrolyte yesterday and one of the motor connectors had come out during my 'let's ram the lipo back in the fuse' process. She's in a nasty place so I have to feed a hook wire to get the lead to the side so I can plug it back in...
I was so consumed with other little things in the hobby room, I forgot to hook the lead back up for this mornings outing.... Doh!!
The 850 lipo's I would class as 750mah's if you're lucky. Mine didn't perform as I would have expected either (flying them in the micro A-10) so back to the 1000mah's for now.

Not much construction has happened in that closet for the last few weeks. To be honest I've been enjoying the assets that Miami has to offer. I'm only here for a limited time so I'm trying to soak up as much of that latin culture as possible.... On the other hand I've been working with the help of some friends to bring more press to this niche area of the hobby. In a few months non-rcgroupers will have the opportunity to read about the advancements that we see occuring in this forum .

well since dave is slackin big time.....i did some mods to the "E"......i figured....if 200W is good.....why not double it?????? ill be flying it on 400W tomorrow. id like to see a solid 115 mph. that reminds me...i better bring my camera!!!! should be a little easier to hand launch now....with over 1:1 thrust...

375W of fury! cant wait to see what don has to say about the speed....id have to guess in the 110 range. its a damn rocket!!!!! the hand launch still sucks. i need a small bungee. i had about 4 bad hand launches (lack of breeze) so the nose is just about beyond repair...i just taped it together to get it in the air for these videos...
this is how i crack off the 2011 year speed run trials!!!!!!!!

few pics of the new power plant. its accualy from my T-33 which suffered a nasty bust up from a bad hand launch...go figure eh? anyhow, here it is, but instead of the modded wattage blade i had on the T-33(thinner chord blades) i took the stock cut down blade from the old electrolyte fan and installed it on the kms motor. the thinned blade was 350W, this one is close to 400W. crazy stuff. sorry about the pics...this is as good as my camera does...
this fan runs crazy smooth. and was real fast to put together. i spent hours and hours trying to get that outrunner i had to run decent...and it wasnt that smooth. one thing i noticed, was that the old setup had all kinds of caked on tryed grass inside the shroud from aborted hand launches and sucking up grass on landings. certainly wasnt helping my speed on previous setup, perhaps this is why did didnt gain much speed when i changed to better packs/esc. all i know is....it gained performance now..big time. i wanted to use the 8 blade that dave sent me...but after i mounted that fan in a shroud, the watts went way down, only about 260. so, i need to get a hotter motor for that one. cant justify the weight of the kms motor for only 260W. 400....now that i can justify. so looks like the 8 blade needs a 6000kv or so to be in the 400W range on 4s....
