i just used a real scale to weigh the elelctrolyte (bret...close your eyes) turns out adding 9G servos, and a 18A esc....and 1050 packs rather than 750's....it weighs 14oz!!!! :O so...it flies very nice even at 14oz! :O my updates only added .5oz, so im going back to 750 packs for sport flying, it only weighs 13oz with those packs in. the 1050's weigh 1.4oz more than the 750's. good grief. i finnaly hooked up a watt meter. on the 1050's its making 215W at 13.5A,and 190W at 12.5A with the 750's.

i ran the 1050's on the T-33, and its making 340W at 23A. holding pretty well. the 1800's ran the same....i thought id see a little more, but i guess not. they are only 20C though, and the 1050's are 30c.

CN, when you pick it up fully loaded - does it feel like a brick? When I pick mine up, I shudder at thinking it will be able to fly at this weight!

yours weighs 12oz with 320W...and your worried! the first flights of mine were at about 12oz.....and it only had 180W. if mine went 90 with 200W....imagine what yours will do with 320w!!!! i need to build another one smarter.....i got to heavy with this one. i also need a smaller rx, that will help shed a little weight.

mine is 14.5oz with a 1050 4s, and 13with a 750. youll be fine. youll be suprised how slow it lands at 13 oz. i live at 4,000 asl....and at 14oz, it landed decent. your too used to flying feathers i guess. flying this model is like flying a big 90mm or 120mm jet. not foam 90mm, composite. it flies like a MANS jet

That explains why Brent is getting 7 min flights....he's at 13 amps on 4s 1000's. My guess is that the best place to save weight is by staying at 3s and bring the amps up to 20-25. IMO that would be a good power system for a hand launchable Electrolyte. If the plan is to bungee then I say go 5s....lol

NC,
I launched CN's Electrolyte at your weight both underhand and overhand. It worked both ways but underhand seems to be much more reliable. It was much more of a no brainer...

I just ordered a couple of 850 Hyperion 2S 25C lipo's this morning. One for the Micro A-10 and both for the Electrolyte. That should help get the weight down to where I don't have to shove the lipo all the way back and lighten it a tad too.

I'll still maiden with the 4S 1000mah's nano's.

Brent,

She's a beauty. Looks like you have aluminum duct tape leading edges and duct intake outlines. Should gleam in the sun, just beautiful! That yellow on the bottom is cool looking too, I just seem to have yellow disappear in the distance when close to reds and oranges. Ahh to have young eyes back again.......

Don't scratch that paint job, you hear!

Fred

And don't rely on the colours to know which side is top and which is bottom!
