If u can get a foam airframe for $15 I can't see why it would be worth all that effort. The foam j-power airframes are great. I'm hoping they do a 40mm powered sport jet!

OK - I've finished building the little sucker but I've hit a snag. The 1000mah 4S is too heavy and I can't move it back far enough to get close to balancing it.

It weighs a fat 375g with it in there too (259g without). It feels like a brick. Is that what yours feels like CN? It reminds me of the Kyosho Illusion which is 315g w/o lipo..... yup! that's the one I got from you - still going strong!
The SkyAngel 50mm Hawk weighed ~330g without lipo when I had the 40mm in it.

I'll weigh down the tail to balance it for now. I'll have to order 850's to bring the weight down in the front me thinks.

.

Bummer. I hate waiting for batteries right when you need them. Maybe she will be sporting some colors by then!

375g...damn...you guys are fearless . I guess it won't matter with a bungee or a good thrust to weight ratio. Once its up to speed you'll be fine!!!

nitro..i was wondering if that was my old kyosho!

i used 2 2s packs, and they are the 30c 1050's. i used 2s packs, because i can get oneto slide all the way backto where the ducts meet....

if that dont blow your mind...ive got a RDS8000 8ch rx in the nose. havnt beenable to get the 5 ch rx yet...im also using 3 9g servos now. even with all this, the model flies awsome at 4,000 ft asl. and i underhand launched it into a 5 mph breeze...

Heck, they say that about every day this time of year, especially when it is over a week away still? The rains have been brutal this year!! I am coming whether the weather is good or not bro! I just booked a nonrefundable hotel room. That's how us poor people travel! So, you had better keep your schedule free that day and plan on sneaking a flight in no matter the weather.

While I was on holiday the 850 Nano's came in stock. Earlier today I added the 2S to my cart as the 3S was already sold out. Now when I wanted to check out they were already on backorder. Did you order the last ones?

Damn... You really need a shoehorn to slide the batteries in that tiny thing, Brent...
I'll have all the room needed in the scratchbuilt Hawk i'm finishing. Received my 3s 850 Nano's for it today. Still a bit of sanding before the paintjob and she'll be ready for maiden ! (and i'll be ready for the nice clean EDF 40 fighter project)
