We used to know some people that had a "house" down there but they sold it kinda disappointed but o well.

Im hoping to take my planes next time I go. Last time we took the nitro trucks and that was fun for a while until we had a run away. On a completely different and separate matter, did you know that salt water rusts everything on a nitro truck?

Oh yeah, the landing gear wire on my T-28 rusted shortly after I flew it there last year.

We were renting a house at Surfside Beach for years and years until the whole family vacation thing fell through... some of those in our family were tired of Myrtle Beach after 15+ years so we went to Smith Mountain Lake (VA) in summer of 2008. One word = meh. After you look at the lake, there's really nothing to do there. Okay for some who like to "get away from it all" but you're at least 30 minutes from any sort of entertainment, grocery store, etc. It was very boring. We all sorta went our separate ways after that, and my wife and I returned to Myrtle Beach in September of '08, just the two of us. We went twice in 2009, and plan to go back in September of this year if funds and time allows.

ah, My favorite place to go is Table Rock State Park. We take a tent up there to the camping ground and stay there for a week. Not a lot of people and we could run our tucks up there without anybody complaining. Im eventually going to get another radian and hike to the top of the mountain and fly but that may be a while...

I came across your thread looking for members in the Myrtle Beach area since I'm trying to sell a nitro trainer but I must say, that video of flying from the beach is spectacular! I live in the area but never thought about flying on the beach. I usually take an electric p51 over where the old mall was located. If your looking for a little less people, that is where I would recommend. There's even some good pavement over there too.

A few people have given me grief for flying over the beach but I waited until most everyone went home and I would have ditched it at the first sign of trouble. The T-28 is decked out with lights now so there will be some night flying in September. Thanks for the comments!

The old mall... the one over by King's Highway, going towards Murrell's Inlet? I think I know where you're talking about.

Well, I thought it was a great video and think that you are a confident pilot. I was thinking that the confidents that you had in that plane, maybe I should look into buying one. I always loved nose gear....

The old mall I was referring to is located up near 21ave North. It's near the Office Depot. It would be best to take kings highway to 21N, Go west to Oak street, Turn right and turn into the office depot. I usually park at the next parking lot and walk over to the field and use that old parking lot as a runway or today, I was using it for a Heli pad for my new t-rex 450se V2

450sev2.
