Hi guys, I just read out the 15 pages of this thread and wanted to share my experience ... Two of my buds offered me this kit a couple of months ago for my bday ... and I started the assembly a couple of days ago.
As you can see below, I got some references as I work for the French Cirrus distributor here, so if you need some info/pictures/details do not hesitate to contact me.
I will come back soon with more info as the maiden flight approaches ...
Anyway, after opening the box my first thought are :
- The kit is a very good deal compared to its price ... even here in France ;-)
- Love the scale look of the fuselage
- I miss the flaps ... will probably think about doing the mod later on ...

Wings are now achieved (no flaps mod yet), the landing gear was lightly bent so the model is closer to the ground. Horizontal stabilizer is in place. I glued the control surfaces on tonight.

LOVE how its on the wing!!!!!!
Lemme know how you do the flaps.
The only downside here is that the decals are a deiiferent color. But I like the Grey, black and red decals better than brown.
What is your job at the distributor?
Test flight?

Also, my landing gear was bent too. Do what they said and get a cap head screw. You can get it much tighter. Also, Make the flat deeper. But DONT change the angle of the flat! ITs there for a reason!!(learned that the hard way)
I also made a separate mount for a separate servo for the nose gear. I mixed it with the rudder channel, so I can turn it off in flight. I also have flaperons.
There is a video of a tricked out SR22 Electrifly on Youtube, Il;l try to find it for you later. It shows how to do flaps and lights.

Alex, thanks for these tips ! I will probably the flaps mod after a couple of flights in the 'stock' version first. Regarding the decals, I do not like the brown you see on the picture, I will try to reproduce one of our rentals, see here :

This one is my favorite ! ;-)
As this one is fitted with the Avidyne PFD+MFD instrument panel I will customize it as well as the one included in the kit represents the latest Garmin 'Perspective' option.
To answer your question I'm the Chief of Maintenance here ... and we do only Cirrus ! ;-)
Besides I've also purchased the foamy Dynam SR22 ... but it's another story ... ;-)

You're welcome! The decals that come with the plane are pretty close to the one in your picture. Be sure to have two people put on the big decals. It makes it much easier!

Here is one guy with lights:

Here is one guy with the whole works!!! Flaps, lights, etc.

Canopy magnets

I just had something interesting happen. Fortunately, it didn't happen in flight. The glue that holds the canopy magnets to the fuselage simply stopped holding the magnets in place!

I found both sets of magnets on the canopy side. I will have to clean the mating surfaces and use epoxy, but I wanted to let others know of this - - surprise.

I have had other issues with glue joints "letting go" on this SR22, so I would check all the factory CA joints as well.

Nick

You didn't say if you actually got air born Alex. Hope you did. It's a great plane in the air.

I still have reoccurring problems with the nose gear. No surprise there. Often the nose gear will twist, and the plane will flip, tail over nose. The repairs are easy, it seems to be the fix that is elusive. Just when you think you have fixed it, that demon pokes up again. Maybe I'll just make a tail dragger out of it!

Congrats on the solo maiden. Mine has battle scars too. As long as you enjoy it, who cares! I find it fly's better with a 3300, it handles the weight well, which is good because it's a little electron eater.
