The Dayton ARea Thermal Soarers (DARTS) are again going to host a HLG Contest on contest July 10-11, 2010

Here is a bird’s eye view of the field, This should give those who haven’t flown on it some idea of what it looks like.

We’ve got a great field with lots of HLG tradition. Come and join us if you can!

This year’s dates are July 10-11 because of a number of factors, none the least of which was that our field was not available for both the Saturday and Sunday of our traditional fall date in September. There were some other scheduling issues which bought us to this date in mid-July.

All in all, I think it’s a good date, and can be used as a pre-NATS warm up for those planning on attending the HLG portion of the NATS 3 weeks later.

This year our meet is also a F3K team selection qualifier and I expect some additional entries from hopefuls for the USA F3K team.

I also expect some flow over from others who are competing in Scale Acrobatics at the NATS the week before our contest.

If this mid-July pre-NATS date works out well, we may leave it here in mid-July.

Though we are not automated and collecting entry fees in advance, PLEASE use the links on the page to PRE-REGISTER so that we can resolve any frequency conflicts, make out the flight groups and print out the flight cards

This is a neat contest and a neat field. You guys that travel to contests should definitely put this into the consideration mix. For guys that sometimes feel the need to bring their spouses along, this field is kind of unique in that it has a perminant restroom facility. Wives tend to prefer this 100 times over porta johns.

The field and accomodations sound great. The weekend after the 4th of July works well for me. I'm looking forward to it.

Gavin and Tom, I'm hoping one (or both) of you can find 10 minutes to fly my new Blaster to provide feedback on its setup.
