I did design the hull geometry from the deck down. The styling and deck details were done by the ProBoat designers using their CAD programs. I basically drafted up full-size dimensioned drawings of the business side of this hull, and they took those and adapted them to the deck. After testing the first prototypes, it was fantastic, but I asked for some minor changes to improve it's rough-water handling. The final result is what you see.

I also recommended the hardware design and provided drawings and examples, and spec'd the driveline style, asking for a standard 3/16" stub setup, so normal prop selections can be used. I don't have a production version in my hands yet, but I think they did that as well.

I think this should be a pretty cool boat, and plan on racing the heck out of one in P-Limited Offshore as soon as I have one.

Hopefully you all like it as well.

Darin, i am very interested in purchasing this one....it looks amazing. What size 2s lipos do you recommend and how long of run times are you expecting from them? Thank you.

Also, when will these be hitting the market?

If it is stock motor as he says... it will.. only once though.
Might have better luck with 5s.
Stick the Neu you just got into it, it will take 6s just fine ;-)

I would try to use at least 5000's... Would expect to get at least 4-minutes... maybe more, with 5000's as it comes out of the box. If you start playing with props, then this will change. Might be able to go longer, but I haven't spent the time testing that part of the equation. Our race boats with this power system can easily go 4-minutes, so I would expect at least that out of this one with 5000's.

The Horizon/ProBoat sites show Late July... Experience shows that that usually means sometime in August. I'm right there in line with you guys... I'd love to have one now, as the race season is fully under way, but guess we'll have to wait a bit longer. I anticipate it'll be well worth the wait, however.

I have one on order to, but one question we should ask ProBoat and other company's is why they bring out a new product so late in the year? They should be on the shelves in March or earlier. That is the only beef I have.
