Woh! thats dedication! Fuel stings me most, its a bit of a round trip, especially for a 2.5l transporter. Only one broken pop this time and that was me getting tired and randomly knocking the throttle stick after i landed. Quickly packed up after that before i hurt someone.

hi guys, just a quick question, i have a scratchbuilt 50" wing, ( a divinty made bigger,) and just wondering what KV motor is best to use, i am not looking for out and out speed, but want some grunt to fly the fpv wing around, i wont be going out miles like you guys, but want to cruise around my flying area, and also get the best out of my 2200 Mah lipos, have been looking in the range of 850 to 1400 Kv and also props around the 8 to 11 inch range, but need help to decide

Hi Carl, if it is any help, I am using a 1000kv motor in my scratchbuilt 50" wing with a 10x5 prop. It's not super quick, but will climb vertically and I can easily get 20 minutes on a 2600 - 3000mAh pack if I am flying with mixed throttle settings. Has the advantage that it is significantly quieter than most pusher type set ups.

Have been getting lots of fpv flying in recently with my little quad and a bit with fixed wing too.

hey highviz, that sounds just what i wanted, i am not looking for super quick, but want something that will have plenty of oomph to just cruise around, is your motor a named make or a copy motor, have been looking on giantcod for motors, so will look for a 1K motor like you have and a similar prop, and then can try some throttle control

I have bought loads of them in the past they are generally pretty quick.

If not just mail them, the customer service has always been good as well.

Hey guys, I'm pretty new to RCGroups, though hang around on fpvuk and fpv-forum.com a fair amount.

I'm from Leeds, UK - been FPV'ing with varying degrees of success on and off for about 6 months or so. Still a noob, lots to learn, lots still yet to buy (not sure that ever ends tbh!).

Normally fly an E-Flight Alpha 450 - pretty good sturdy balsa model thats done me proud (enough to keep fixing the bugger everytime I crash, anyways )
