Cool, thanks for the info!

I dont think it matters about long range in regards to long range and high power vtx with a ham licence as the Anno still states to be lawful you have to stay in visual range of your spotter?

My eyes are good to about 300m, thats it

There is whole thread dedicated to testing 1.2-1.3 video transmitters and these come out the best. I personally know a few people who fly them and they are indeed good.

If you wanna spend more IRC are bringing out completely new video transmitters and receivers in the 1.3 range. Not sure when they are due though.

A Y4 uses one motor top and bottom counter rotating on the rear and rather than a servo to move the direction of the thrust for yaw it uses the torque of the motors in the same way a quad yaws.

I think the NAZA has an issue mixing in a servo control, hence the reason why a Y4 Y6 is fine....but it seems a little silly that a KK2 is able to mix it but not a premium bit of kit.

Has anyone noticed the Hobbyking site being a bit temperamental over the last few days or is it just me? Can't get on at all at the moment.

Hi Mitch,

Thanks for the welcome and it sure seems a very active thread. I think the answer to your question is I need to find out about everything , so I'll keep reading and following for a while - you all seem to be sooo knowledgeable.

I guess the first question is what aircraft? I have a Flying Dreams Discus sitting here unbuilt which is quite appealing, but then it could be a hopeless first FPV vehicle...

Take care

Jo

[QUOTE=DodgeRC;24198044]Agree with that...want one now =P

Hi Jo!
Which part of the North Yorks are you about? (There are some odd clubs up there! =P )

Thanks Dodge

Hee hee. I live just outside Harrogate. I'll not comment on "odd clubs", you never know who's reading, but let's just say that I find myself a lone flyer 'cos I haven't really found anywhere that seems comfortable just yet.

As I found out, there aren't many women in full sized gliding and PPL and model flying we're even thinner on the ground.

Thanks for asking

Jo
