I found 5 mins to maiden my newly aquired quad.....and after reversing all but the throttle on my dx6i I was up and away.......in normal mode its a nice stable platform....but in accro mode its a lively little bugger.
Almost finished charging my lipos for tomorrow and its off to a wide open space to throw the quad about.
Now I just need to figure how to film it.

went indoor flying tonight.
Got the micro quad up with lights and now makes circuits actual circuits and not just a guess it's time to turn.
Unfortunately I couldn't hack it about as as soon as I turned up the juice the rubbers gave way and a prop would fall off.
James came along and helped me set up my spider hex with the CC3D board.
First flight was like flying a boat all floaty and washy on the controls.
Buy the end it felt great. Worthy of a race machine.
Just needs some 5.8 gear attached.
Also flew the QAV500 which was it's usual greatness.
That was till I made a young lad cry !!!!
I was I think hovering and the lad flew his depron scale piper cub into it.
I swear it was like watching a blender in action. It just seemed to hover above the quad as I quickly cut chunks out of it until it was a well and truely clipped cub.

@DD

I have nothing against a quad race but please remember the DD is predominantly a Fixed wing club.
so if there are any other members flying their planes then they will have priority and we will have to wait our turn or ask permission....
I don't want to be a party poops but lets remember this is a club

the fact is I am pretty sure we will be the only ones down there anyway

I was there, I saw the boy, he cried a lot (but it was his fault).
I have a video of the plane flying round - nice little scale looking cub, then the next thing you know - it meets Mr QAV500, the flying liquidiser - Plane goes in from the top, small orange/yellow confetti out the bottom - was like a cartoon.
Mr QAV500 did not even flinch, stayed rock solid!

Glad your hexa is flying better Dave, keep going with the tuning - it will astound you when its perfectly dialed in :

Nice - I liked the sunlight reflecting off the water and the pass under the pier.

- Reminds me I need to get some more coastal flying and filming done....

that raises an interesting fact...I underestimated the dangers of a quad ! if the quad remained undisturbed after shredding some depron it means 2 things:

-the prop blades are sharp
-the quad is a powerful device

so, a quad in your face has a serious chance to re-arrange the way you smile..
I have always laughed at quads being flown in close proximity to people in the pits at the flying field (never mind the antics of he-who-not-be-named friend) but now I will be a bit more weary
