You wouldn't get time to check behind, you'll just have to hope for the best

What do you expect to do with this? Just general fpv flying?

Owen has made an awesome strider quads that I think he will be selling soon, worth checking them out.

Sounds good to me.....I'm after general FPV but with the ability to go like a rocket when needed......I'm not after a super steady cam setup.....POWERRRRRR

I guess you mean a strider quad because of the shape and not a particular manufacturer.

so silly question on a 4s setup what motor, ESC, Prop setup would = ballistic speed?

you would need PIP to make it work, but then would it pick up another quad going that fast?

also does anyone know whats the highest power setup you could get out of a 3s pack.

i was thinking http://www.giantshark.co.uk/221206-2...-p-402397.html swinging a 6 4.7 prop......am I thinking the right thing in relation to power or am I blowing smoke as i seem to be doing alot today.
What, you mean a quad a bit like this:
HK450 frame
AXN 2213 800kv motors
Simon K mystery blue 12A ESCs
FY90 flight controller

Runs on a 2200 3S pack. It currently has 8*4.5 props on it but will take 10*4.5s
I made it from my large inventory of spares. It's for sale if you're interested.

that was the sort of thing i was thinking, and i would be interested to know what its going for as I'm looking at options.
the HT FPV frame has caught my eye but that would require all new lipos in 4s so more outlay......so like i say, looking at options.

Everthing that went on this frame was new. I've used it as a test bed for various flight controllers (MWC, ArduMega Pirate etc). It currently has an Fy-tech FY90 flight controller on it.
How does 65 shipped (first class recorded) sound?
I'll even throw in a spare set of new 8*4.5 props to get you going.

I have some spare 800kv motors and also a bucket full of the AXN2210 -1000kv motors. If you mange to break a motor or two.

Thanks for posting that article, interesting read that I wouldn't have got to see being in the SAA (Scottish Aeromodellers Association) up here and not the BMFA. Seems the guy has a good level view of things if you excuse the pun.

LOL. yeah. No problem. It's just sitting here in my office.
I don't have a wife to worry about but I think my kids will notice my new 3D printer arriving shortly. I'm sure there will be questions asked about that!

Here's a quick video of it's last experimental flight - first try of the Simon K firmware. It was doing lots of stick stirring and 'up and drops'.
Testing Simon K firmware (3 min 30 sec)

No I'm resisting the temptation to buy a 3D printer.
But it's hard to resist.

Next on my list! ... added to the list a couple of months ago but I wanted to buy some other workshop tools first and tidy up my milling machines first.

I'm going to try my best to keep my hands in my pockets on this one. Don't really want to shop it over to Seattle at the end of next year.
I'm sure Mitch will let me play with his.

Printer that is
