Yes - on our way to deliver the plane to it's new owner in Lincolnshire. Did comment at the time that it looked as bit cold for playing footie, but even worse for watching it....

Thanks for the invitation to land - but not worth risking it when there was a pile of cash waiting at the next landing field! Would take some explaining to the rest of the syndicate members if we had not made it there. Took a lot longer to drive home from there though.

That reaper showed up well from the air - seemed to be taking up a lot of space in your pits area.

mm tempting but I think I will choose the agricultural way. I am making a H copter and I will use a Crius SE as a controller. there is plenty of real estate on the h copter to try stuff

Great fun at twickers as usual. I don't know if I can make the next one but the FPV car challenge is on.perhaps we can race around the benches outside.
I'll bring a car I'm not sure about driving around outside in the dark though.

All good so far! Wahooooo!!

Flying with Angelos and me, giving it some welly!!
Nice
Looks like make or break time for the discovery's then... No jello on the Artemis. We must be doing something wrong.

Thanks for the offer to the dirty dozen field I'll take you up on it a little further down the line, I seem to be having some teething problems I need to sort first.

The bixler flies great with all the fpv kit on and I'm very happy with the setup.

However big issue with the VX VR......good solid picture on the ground and with the motor running, however walk more than 20 meters and it loses signal......same in the air.

I fly in a farmer's field in the middle of nowhere so no other interance expected.

I was my very nice CL CP antennas so was expecting much more.

I didn't have the originals with me to see if that helped but I'll do a ground test with those later today I have a theory and would like to see if anyone else think the same......here are some picture......wonder if anyone can spot something that might cause a range issue

It's difficult to say what's wrong. The antennas are covered in black goo.
Mudlark once gave me a home brew cloverleaf to test. It was an RF short circuit so it didn't work. The problem is that the cloverleaf is a DC short circuit anyway so testing it with a multi-meter tells you nothing.
Are you sure the antennas are actually working? I.E. have they been tested on someone else's VTX and receiver?

Not been able to test as no one in my club is doing fpv yet.

Didn't have chance to test the whip antennas tonight but will in the morning...might help to figure if the CL CP ate working.

Would you remove the goo??

H-Copter frame: That's my next a project.

SE controller - I've got one you can have. I've got the lite version as well if you want one.
My personal experience of multiwii's is that they are OK if you are into hovering and moving around slowly. They aren't very good if you need lots of throttle.

Dave has a starlight but I do have a camera that is pretty good in the dark. I was thinking of using my Go Pro (that can't see in the dark)..
Actually, an IR camera and creeping around in the dark could be quite fun.

No! don't start picking off the goo. These things are delicate. You'll only end up weakening it.
You really need to find another FPVer near you and swap bits around until you isolate the problem.

I've got an SWR meter (good for all bands from 1.2 to 5.8GHz). I could test the VTX and the antennas for you if you like.
