Free plan: Gas Camera Model - non-scale gas from 1938 Model Airplane News

With all of the attention these days about UAVs with "eyes in the sky" here's one from the 1930s. Nothing's really new. Its the Gas Camera Model - a non-scale gas free flight model from 1938 Model Airplane News. Make it RC and put one of the micro TV cameras in it and bring it up to date!

The plan is so large (the files are full size at 84 inch wingspan) that it may not fit many wide printers. For this reason I have also provided a version with two plan halves with overlap in .PDF format so those of you that can't find a printer wider than the usual 36" size can output two sheets and paste them together.

Use the .PDF files to build from.

Hi Planeman,

Correct me if I am wrong but I think this plane is a Weather's Westerner. Can anyone confirm this? Oh and thanks for the great work you are doing making these great old plans available.

SAM's gas model list has both the Camera Plane and Westerner listed..both attributed to Weather, both using the same picture. I think they're one in the same, but I'm no expert. Pretty bird though. wonder if Kinko's can print that PDF out to about a 5 foot span?

Same model, except the Westerner plans don't show the camera details.

I have to ask: would you trust your Brownie in that thing? :-P

That's a VERY busy wing structure! I bet you had to pull the silkREAL tight,
to get it to warp.

Thanks, PM, for another beautiful plan!
