Anyway, I had no interest in buying a new set of decals, but after the plane was reassembled, it definitely needed something on the windshield. Flying directly at me, the blank orange windshield was just strange.

So I grabbed some stickers (from worldwidefred.com) and improvised. What do you guys think?
The propeller needs a pencil-thin moustache.

That is sweet! My son would be so very excited to see that. He's 11 and has been absolutely certain he will be in the Coast Guard since Katrina when he was 3 1/2.

I took my Champ out for a night walk tonight.

My flying field is about 1/3 mile from my apartment. But it was such a nice windless clear night tonight. So I walked to the field, put the Champ up above the trees and walked all the way home flying circles overhead. Then had a perfect 3 point landing in my apartment's parking lot. My 500mAh battery is capable of 30+ minute flights, but on cold nights like tonight (34 degrees F) I limit myself to just 15 minutes to avoid surprise LVC in the dark.

Yes the 500 is awesome. I try to keep the flight time down to 12 minutes. If I am having a blast, I may go up to 15 minutes max. At least we know we have 45 minutes of flight time. I got a 600mah sitting on the side I bet that give me an hours time. do not want to find out who will outlast, me the motor or the champ?

I've burnt out two motors since September. I'd guess those very long flights have something to do with it.

Yes they have why I limit mine down to under a 15 minute mark. and rest. With what comes with the Champ is a 15omah and that may be what we all should do fly the recommended flights? lol then we all have no fun?

Thank you, let your son know that the USCG is a great service and he will love it. You dont meet to many people (including myself) that say they hated being in.

Yes, but it has a 2mm hole, which will be a lttle sloppy on on a 1.5mm shaft.

heat shrink tubing can be used if it's too sloppy.
