8th Offshore meeting „Offshore 2010”
June 11 Th -13 Th 2010
Dear model builder,
we are pleased to organise the 8th IOS-Offshore meeting in the name of the International OSV Society in Guetersloh.
We would like to invite model builders with models from the offshore industry to attend on our meeting. To name only a few, models of supply vessels, anchor handling tugs, standby vessels, diving support vessels, construction vessels and rigs are welcome.
The IOS – International OSV Society – is a society with an international membership of model builders who are building models dedicated to prototypes of the offshore industry.
Every two years a meeting will be organised on various places. After organising the 2nd offshore meeting in 1998, we are pleased to welcome model builders with their models of this exclusive field again in Guetersloh.
On our website (www.smcnautilus-guetersloh.de) we are providing actual information regarding the offshore meeting 2010 as well as information on the IOS at (www.osv-society.info).
If you own a model of the offshore industry and if you would like to attend on the Offshore 2010, we ask you for your registration.
You can download a registration on this site; contact can be made either by phone or written by email or letter.

Day 1 in Gütersloh:
Santa, please bring me a better camera! It's raining outside, it's dark in the hall where most of the models are hanging out, and I can hardly take a decent picture! Even ISO 800 speed won't let me take a natural light pic (oops, no tripod), and the flash harshness is horrible. Oh well, here's something to give you an idea... absolutely fantastic modeling... I've seen some nice models in the States, but here, the modeling precision combined with engineering details and overall degree-of-difficulty simply put the rest to shame. I hope at the very least, some serious modelers out there can see this, and take the challenge to work at this level (I hope I don't just give up and throw my tools in the dumpster...).
BTW, Argentina was taking on Nigeria while I looked at the boats, and I as I write this, the England/USA game is at 1:1... I wonder if anyone is even watching back home?

Yup, these are the elite.
Hey, it's a sign: There's a hobby shop kitty-corner from my hotel here...
