I've flown 4.3km with a boosted DX7 with zero glitches. I could have gone much further, but I wasn't convinced that my flight battery would've got me home

So doesnt matter where was made, all depends on the quality of the product I have seen Crap USA products and Crap China products, you have to test them first. This could be a good product or a crappy one.

PS: FYI Mexico companies are more clean and have better QC than USA ones, did you know that 90% of your electronics in your car are made in Mexico? (Ford, BMW, VOLVO etc)
Let's keep it on topic!

Lets see... That's at least 3 times you've requested to keep this thread on topic? I'm new here BUT I'm beginning to think a few of these chronic off topic posters are stupid OR just don't understand the meaning of the word "Topic"? Maybe a moderator should give 'em a lesson?

How has the 1W booster with the 4db attenuator worked out?

Dave

Dave,
With the 1W booster and the 4db attenuator I got out to 12,375 feet till the video went south. The radio link was solid.

Just one advice don't try to fly low on this distances, 2.4G doesn't like that, even if your video link is perfect.

DX7 output power

I was told by Horizon Hobby that when the bind button on the DX7 is pressed the output power is approximately half of full power.

Can anyone with the proper equipment verify this?

This might be better asked in the Radios section of RCGroups here:

How about the video range? which one is the best choice between 900M and 1300M video transmitter? According to the RF theory 900M seems to fly farther than 1300M if with same output power. But some one say that 900M will interfere with servo? Is it right?

If you look in my post #1 I use the SunSky Fox 800mw 1280mhz video transmitter.

Let's not use this thread to discuss video transmitters.

I'm Modding my Hitec Aurora9 to fit 1w amp.
With only antenna change (5db omni and 8db omni) & 1mt extension cable I haven't better result than stock setup
At 7/800 mt lost radio link for some second.
(TxV 850mw 1.3Ghz + Lowpass filter http://www.dpcav.com/xcart/product.p...cat=272&page=1 )
Waiting for 1w amp arrives

I know this is a DX7 thread but I was just wondering what was the max range on your stock Aurora 9 and if it's range was better than the DX7?

1.3 Ghz 850mw Video TX reduces max range.
My record is 1100 mt with stock antenna.

You're right. This is for a DX7. Please start another thread for the Aurora.
