I did the payment via banktransfer, the called it payment by T/T. First I was`nt shure, if I will do this to a forein country, but everything went fine. No problems with order, payment and shipping. But the shipping was nearly the same price, as the model
Also nice contact via email with the support. I checked everything by email, also ordered the model by email, not on the website.

the type is AE2810-01E
prop is a 3 bladeed 6x4" Masterairscrew, from the same shop
http://www.rc-brushless-shop.de/contents/de/d93.html

ESC should be around 20A
Battery is a Dymond 2s 1350mAh from this shop

Same airframe, but with the equipment installed. I have the kit with retracts en route and can easily complete it for far less than the 400 bucks that ETM charges for the PNP version.

Thanks, where can I get just the plane? If i want to make it an exclusive seaplane does it come with the gear "doors" to seal them up like i did on the GP Seawind?

As you can see from the various pictures in post number 24, there are no gear doors. The gear wells are closely cut to fit the gear and once on step, all gear wells would be clear of the water. Even when the model si not on step and moving in te water, I think there is no ill effect from the gear wells.

If you want to seal them up, some carefully cut close outs made of a couple of layers of 6mm depron would likely work well.

I finally got a chance to maiden 1.8m ICON A5, not from water but from land.

I ended up with Hyperion ZS3025-10 motor, Master Airscrew 12x6 3 blade prop and 4S Hyperion G3 35C 4200mAh lipo (450g) I had. It gives peak of 580W or so at 36-37A. I have not weighed AUW yet.

Good news is ICON A5 flew flawlessly stable. It was paved runway and take off was smooth. Need to control pitch to match speed to avoid sudden pitch up at take off (it wants to stay level until certain speed.)

Pusher prop gives very nice noisy sound as expected.

It can fly slow well even without flap. I applied a little aileron differential and did not need much rudder to turn without slipping.

This power seems to be enough. It can climb fast, can loop from level with speed. At this level of current consumption, probably I can enjoy touch and goes on water for 15 minutes safely.

CG was a little fore than specified. That pack was too light and I placed another 4S 3300mAh lipo as a weight. Floor center was occupied by linkage, so battery packs sit off center.

I also experienced periodic tail wag. It occurs at certain speed and under certain maneuver which I could not reproduce.

Applying throttle did not give pitch up or down. It wants to drop wing near/at stall speed which can be recoverable with small altitude.

I think I used Atlas DS11 10g servos for aileron, DS-13 18g for flaps and elevator, DS-13 metal for rudder and gear retract. Flap servos openings are layouted asymmetrically to control with Y cable (I used 8ch Rx though.)

Retract linkage is a pain. Required stroke of 2 retracts are too different, wire is too long to push for nose. I will think about to add one more separate servo for nose gear. Rest of build was straight and quick.

It seems I broke nose gear retract when I landed hard at the 5th flight today. I need to figure out how to cut around nose.

Waiting a chance to go to lake/river soon.

I think a Rufe would be closer than a 172.
Seriously, was it this by chance, although it has skis?
