What about the Vector 850? http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s...dProduct=23968 At US $57.98 it's very close on price and easy to hop up with a 3S pack with the right prop. Here's the thread http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1599809 and one of my vids
Vector 850 Skysurfer 25Nov12 (5 min 1 sec)

I was tempted by the Vector 850 following your advice, but there is none in stock.
I have been putting off my order for too long so I have gone with the Mini Swift.

The mini popwing/bonsai would have been an excellent choice.
Don't get the arf.
A good powertrain setup here:

Your bonsai power set up was similar to the one I ran on my scratch built KFm-4 wing. I built 2 extra ones for my FB's and they quickly upgraded from 1700kv BW's to the 3000 kv version
Mini Wing KFm-4. 610 span. Shot with #16 HD Keycam (2 min 20 sec)
Cheap to get in the air and massive fun especially in windy conditions

I recently bought the bonsai so will run the same set up

Headless,
That Mini Wing looks like a ton of fun!
And extremely tough, too.
I've been apprehensive about getting a flying wing mainly because I fear I would lose orientation quickly.
But the toughness factor looks compelling.

Remember that it was my first version and made out of depron. One of my later versions was made from EPP foam and would be more durable. You could tame things down by making it larger.

Funny but i keep better orientation of my Bonsai (mini popwing equiv) than most of my other planes. It's my favorite plane.

Matrix, how many grams does you MiniSwift weigh?
She looks pretty loaded up with wires, gyros and alarms.

The following servos will fit just right: From Heads Up RC one Emax 8g ES08A sub micro servo (for the ailerons) and from Hobby King - two 3.7g/.4Kg/.10 sec Micro Servos (for elevator and rudder). Can probably get the 8g servo from Hobby King also.

In my crash kit I used these from Hobby King.
http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s...rSearch=EM_43g
I don't recall any problems getting them in.
I put two in the wing thinking I could program up flaperon/spoilerons. They fit in the wing without any protruding bumps. Had a big midair with another much larger foamie. The horn broke on one of the aileron servos but the gear train was fine.
Oh, and I don't use the flaperon or spoileron functions anymore - they didn't seem to add a lot - the plane is too easy to fly and it isn't necessary to invoke camber changing functions.

Thanks all for the info. Finished my latest MS today waited for the wind to drop. It didnt, had a flight anyway 28 kmph and gusty. Didnt have to touch the trims just flew "on the sticks" magic !
This little swift loves wind !. Have learned the hard way it loves speed, sure sharpens the reflexes on my old body (80 !). Enough speed with standard motor will upgrade 1811 or 1806 soon.
Cheers and thanks.

Go with the 1806-2500 for a hotter setup and more fun. I had the 1811-2000 as a more reliable version of the original motor, but equivalant power. When they first came out the original motor had quite a problem with overheating and burning out. Later kits (the ones without the crash kit parts) have a different motor and I think it has solved the reliability issue.
However more power and speed with the 1806-2500 opens up the envelope and the fun truly begins.
