edf 54mm shifty kmf2
just got an idea.. why dont we strap an edf 54mm on shifty wing? and also put an airfoil on it...
so i strapped my old phaser3 fantom edf unit about a month on my version 2. it was an awesome flier, took a hard landing and the fan came right off.
so i was bored last nite and still have half of a box for readi board foam sitting there. i decided to revisit the wing and build a new one
this will be my version 3
its 90% done, just need to put control horns in and cf control rods
maiden flight 5-16-2010 9am
first maiden today. sorry no video.
a bit nose heavy, a little windy( yeah thats vegas for you),tossed it with a little up elevator, she went straight up. plenty of power.
rolls and loops are nicely executed.
inverted flight. forgot to test it out.. next flight.
took it up about as high as i can see it .wanted to see how well it can soar. not bad.so i started to lose altitude so i throttled up to full for a dive. wow no fluttering. pretty fast dive
after about 5 mins of flight time i had to bring her down for a nice soft landing 1 1/2 ft away from me
