ArduIMU Quadcopter
Hi all, this is my new quadcopter project:
This time, this mini droid is able to flight alone. Take a look at the video, itīs funny... ![]()
Specs of this tiny quadcopter: Size: 28.5cm (rotor to rotor) Motors: 1811 2000Kv 10grams brushless motors Props: 5x3 (standard props, no counter rotating) ESCs: Turnigy 6A Batt: 2S610 Lipo Main board: ArduIMU+ v2 flat Sensors: 3 accels, 3 gyros, 3 magnetometers More sensors: Sonar (LV-EZ0), 4x Sharp IR sensors (GP2Y0A02) GPS: optional (Ublox or generic NMEA like MTKs) IMU algorithm : DCM (the one used in ArduIMU project) Telemetry: Xbee Pro Magnetometers, Sonar, IR sensors and GPS are optional sensors if you only like to fly like a normal quad... I am using standard props (no counter rotating) and mounted two of the motors tilted (see photos on the blog post part II) This time, the hardware (ArduIMU) really show itīs limits... itīs not a problem of CPU power, itīs a problem of the limited I/O (I had to use an external Arduino Pro mini to read the analog signals of the distance sensors), so I am starting to move this project to the big brother, the new ArduPilot Mega Hardware and the new sensor shield (not available yet). The original blog posts with more info and full codes are here: PartIII: http://diydrones.com/profiles/blogs/...opter-part-iii PartII: http://diydrones.com/profiles/blogs/...copter-part-ii (another video inside) Jose. |

Infrared sensors
Hi, I'd like to connect 4 Sharp IR sensors to my ardupilot mega ( http://code.google.com/p/ardupilot-m...ardwareDetails) for obstacle avoidance but i am not sure how to connect those sensors to my ardupilot mega physically. I have seen jose did it on diydrones website (http://diydrones.com/profiles/blogs/...opter-part-iii) but as far as i know he is using differnt IMU board. The IMU board i am actually using is this one (http://code.google.com/p/ardupilot-m...ki/IMUHardware). I know it is a stupid question but help me pls
.Just a summary of which pin to connect which. Thanks you in advance...
