I just maidened my 50mm F-22 yesterday!! It's a blast to fly!! The v-3 and the 50mm look almost exactly the same, I just painted the nose cone to match the 70mm F-22. Ofcourse the little 50mm is alot faster than it's big brother..

Here they are side by side...

Well what you are looking at is packing material from a residential heating unit. I instal heat and A/C, so I see alot of these. Instead of throwing them away, I started making aircraft stands out of them.

They are made from a very dense epo foam compound. You can see in the first picture what it looks like before I cut and hot glue it together to fit the plane I want it to hold. I have purchased a bunch of aircraft stands in the past but I don't like bringing them to the field, so I use these to put my planes on when transporting them in my pick-up. They stop them from sliding around while I drive... Are they pretty??? NO! Are the functional??? YES!!

Is it a stock setup? (50mm f-22) and is it easy to fly like his big brother?
Thinking to buy one...

No problem Zeke!! Pictures speak a thousand words.. I have a Don's wicked 5400kv/wemo fan combo in the 50mm. It's alot of fun to fly so far.

I have ten flights on it. Well, maybe eight, It took three flights to get it trimmed and ballanced correctly. I would say it's a little harder to fly than the v-3 due to its size, It wants to roll left when hand launched.

I am sure you can do it, if you have hand launched an edf before.. If you do get the 50mm F-22 and you need help, let me know. I would be happy to give you a hand with it.. Or just check out the 50mm thread, Tons of info there!!!

Thanks Sky! for the info about the mini f22, will definitely buy one, hopefully in a month or so...

Really like the f-22's, I can't buy the bigger one (twin 70mm) coz it wont fit in my vehicle...so will just settle for the single 70mm and soon with the 50mm

I got some video of my F-22 over the weekend. Yes! I hand launch it!! I did not have a camera man with me so this was the best I could do. I was doing speed runs to check out the Rc speedo app for smart phones I just downloaded. My fastest pass was 83mph. I was surprized to say the least, I did not think this big bird in stock form was that fast.. Check it out!! http://www.rcspeedo.info/

Yes sir!! Thats the v-3...... or was a v-3 .: The same day I made that video, I had signal failure and she hit the deck at great speed ..

This is strange because, I have never had trouble with the orange rx before. If I had to guess what happened, I would say my satellite came loose in flight, causing the crash. I already started looking for a replacement, I love this jet..

So sorry to see that. I am still waiting for the wind to die down before I maiden mine. What's with all the tornadoes coming through the mid west?
The one a month ago missed me by 1/2 mile.
Hope to see you flying soon.
