back to the topic at hand,

three more flights with good performance.

the only issue I find is that the plane "rocks" back and forth around corners... but it definately comes home, definately does what it says it will do.

Lets see.... so far it's pretty darn reliable and I have a unbalanced prop that is causing some pretty good shaking which does not seem to effect the sensors. (stabilized flight does not rock back and forth)

I had it on stabilize for launch... it worked well but it wanted to stay 6' off the ground of course... ;-)

I've tried that and it works (landing with thermopiles in a stabilized mode). But I can also tell you an IMU works better under wider conditions. The Pap and Ardu guys do AUTO landing with the TP systems on a regular basis.

Nothing wrong with Thermopiles. They are a great low cost solution when $ is critical.

It is clear that the Inertial ones will occupy the whole market finally.
And it won't take long to see that.
You’re telling the wrong dude here.
We develope autopilots for a living and regardless of the fact TP units have different limitations of both strengths and weaknesses to an IMU, the thermopile units will always have a place in the market. The solution cost much less and is well proven. TP units are not prone at all to vibration, or divergence of the solution. They are a direct measurement of attitude not a modeled solution. We sell both units and there are clear advantages to TP units over IMU as well as the other direction.

yup agreed guys, I have both I have an atto pilot as you know and an ardupilot and this... they are all good.... I am not bashing anybody or any style but for an example, I was flying and it started raining on me last night... TP would not have liked rain on the sensors.... and I still dont trust them to launch from, sure I have landed with them... but I am not brave enough to launch with it on...

Here is a video as my friend chased me around (most of the time I was in auto pilot circle home) sorry about the choppy video.... just to clarify my plane is the one he is chasing NOT the plane that you see the video from... he has the ET system as you can see with themopiles... guess what? it's still not adjusted yet ;-) and also guess what? after the cold rain the z sensor would not calibrate.... so he had no stabilization... guess who still did?

for the impatient skip to about 2:00

FLEXIPILOT is no longer available separately in small quantities.
Get them when hot??? Is that your selling point??

I had my first flight just an hour ago with the FY-20A. My jaw is still on my knees!!!
Saying the unit worked amazingly well is an understatement. My TP based Co-pilot II is trash in comparison.
Seriously guys. At 100+ bucks, this is something that will take over FPV flight.

Jaw on my knees guys!!!

BB

PS - and it was cloudy, wet and sunless too.
Had to stop flying because it got dark. Tomorrow is fly fly fly fly fly........................!!

tracking antenna Patch

Hello.
I have the FY-21AP II witch FY-OSD 2.0, since 21/06/2010. and mounted on a Multiplex Mentor
Also I have a tracking antenna Patch ground running with my old EZOSD.
Are there ability to run this antenna with the FY OSD 2.0?.
I have the problem that when flying with the goggles, I get lost video signal, and I have to manually guide the antenna that causes the problem.

regards
