I was wondering if anyone using flaperons on the mini hawk?
If Im not mistaken the instructions suggested using spoilerons..?

Basically, spoilerons are your friend with this type of flyer. You still retain full roll control (not so with flaperon, as an up aileron command only yields neutral, and somewhat of an opposite response from the aircraft than intended because of the drag from the other down aileron). Spoilerons create drag and dump lift to slow down and plunk 'er down. Helps with the extra speed of a pylon plane to be able to spot land a bit better.

It worked very nicely on a 'slipso' like airframe, about 150 mph. Probably a bit slower on the mibo, but easier to see (and oh how I love fully molded ships :thumbup. Can't wait to try 4 or even 5 cell with an appropriate Mega! I'll post pics of my paint job using a tamiya rattlecan. Came out very nice (save for a bit of bleed under the masking tape) and dried literally in minutes. Very easy to make out the topside

Because of the location of the ailerons on the Reverb wing, flaperons are not a good idea. You do not want to be adding washin when you are coming in for a landing as that will increase the tendency for tip stalling and losing aileron control. Since the control surfaces are close to the wing tips, flaps will do just that. Spoilers on the wingtips add washout which will stabilize the plane by reducing the tendency of the wingtips to stall. If the control surfaces were inboard, flaperons would be preferred.

Spoilerons actually kill this tendency completely, I´ve tried full spoilerons and full eleveator up (with more elevator throw that you can use in normal flight), and it does not tipstall, only goes down with the tail doing a leaf movement (up-down-up-down)

Darn... I went to go maiden my Reverb today but when I got to the field, I could not get the CG forward enough, despite my wildest efforts. It was at least 45mm to 50mm from the LE, which seemed to be way too far back. So I did not fly it. My HET-2W-20 with a 2200mah 3S and Ice 50 Lite are just too light and don't weight down the nose enough. Better to be safe than sorry.

Where are you Reverb guys setting your CG at?
