Mibo E-Osa/Axis/E-Wasp

I'm looking to replace/upgrade from a Micro Chili/Sparkle, and noticed the E-Wasp at Soaringcomposites.com, which looks just about perfect. A bit of research shows that it's a Mibo model called the E-Osa ('Axis' I think).

Does anyone know if there's anyone carrying it in the US?

Mike,

You can try soaringusa , espritmodel or icare-rc (nearer to where you are located). As a last resort, I believe soaring composites do send overseas. I have dealt many times with them.

Yeah, ONGL has practically bought the whole collection that Soaring Compaposites has to offer...minus the sloapers though

Hmm, does that mean that he has one of these already? If so, any opinions?

I have a Micro Flash already, so I'm not really looking for a pure hotliner, more something that I can hotdog around with under power, though I'd probably use a folder and a couple hundred watts...

DrZimlok,

The MicroFlash is a 1.5m wingspan plane (ehawk 1500?). We have tried this motor prop combination with great success. Motor turnigy 2836-2350kv motor (It has a 4mm shaft and you can get one from hobbycity.com) to a 7x5 apc (you may want to opt for a folding version , try to get the one with the 8mm /3mm mounting size) and 2200 30c 3s battery. Works great!

Flies like a half hotliner half pylon.

Leo,

Were you referring to the Micro Flash or to the Micro E-Wasp?

Also, I just realised in looking at the Mibo site that the regular E-Wasp is €189 vs the Micro E-Wasp at €329. That seems just a bit outrageous. 8(

Mike,

The recommended powertrain is suitable for both the planes. I have actually tried the setup on small pylon planes (0.8m wingspan) to gliders of 1.5 meters and it worked beautifully.

Both the "e-wasp" and "micro e-wasp" are the same plane. The "micro e-wasp" is bundled with the motor , esc , servos, spinner. Funny!

Do you have any reference/links for the difference? The Mibo webstore has no specifications for the non-Micro E-wasp at all, and the only difference between the two listings is that one is Model 800401, and the other is 800401.SET.

http://mibomodeli.si/trgovina/index....oducts_id=4242

in german but the specs are just numbers

both the german and the slovenian refer to an "e-wasp" and a "micro e-wasp"

maybe its the same plane and this is a misprint of the specs as you are right about the catalogue number 800401 in both cases

wierd huh?

ok - the 1320mm span is the new model, the 1200mm span will nolonger be available, so there is only one model and it has been updated, according to Bogo at Mibo

Interesting. At 51" it's now the same size as the Royal Models Snipp, which is somewhat easier to get here (though realistically, no cheaper).

@ongl - any chance of some close-up pictures? I'm particularly interested in how much space there is in the fuse (e.g. what batteries will fit), what the motor area looks like (space for a 28mm outrunner, or inrunners only), and of course any opinions you have about the model.

Thanks!
