Hey, if this guy can put a real turbine in a FlyFly, Vic can run this one on 10S!!

Although the real turbine sounds way cool... it looks slower than a 2KW setup on 6S....

Flyfly F100 super sabre with Lambert Kolibri P20 turbine - first flight and flame out (4 min 9 sec)

Pffft... even in that torrential wind and rain I got up and flew my Parkzone Radian, that was hilarious! And then JAMES ripped the wings off of it! (But I was doing some crazy things with it just prior to handing off the controls... )

"Beat the Heat" is a definite GO. Hope to see you guys there!

Let's Compare

So excuse the mess behind the planes, but let's compare the size of the L-39 to previous planes.

That's a big bird... I'm gonna like it!

Just got my Fan and Motor (thanks Robert!) so I'll be testing it out on 10s soon!
I'll be running one of those brand new HET Typhoon 700 series motors in the also new HET 9305 V2. Anxious to see how many lbs. of thrust that combo kicks out! I'll post specs and results here too.

Hyperion VX (35c) 4200's. I have a 4s and a 6s pack so I'll just slap'em together...

*just as a number crunch* to hit 2kw on 10s, all I need is about 54 amps; easily done. If I can get about 60 amps (while still being efficient with this motor) I'll be seeing around 2220 watts. So even if I make it porky at around 7.5lbs, I'll still have about 300 watts/lbs.

I'm eager to see what kind of thrust this new 9305 V2 puts out!

I am waiting to see how your power system turns out. I am interested in the V2 fan as well. So far I have:
Scorpion 3026 1400kv
4000ma 35c 8s
sentilon 100a hv ESC
This ESC is a brick, its about the size of a pack of cigaretts. it will do up to 12s so I may have to do a dragster setup in the future

The new HET 9305-700 fan has been available for a little while now, its basically a 9305 with new larger motor housing to take 39mm cans, and a slightly revised rotor.

When I tested a handful of the sample motors for HET I had the 1400Kv on hand, it pulls over 80 amps on 10 cells, and over 45,000rpm too which should make for some interesting performance I have it in the fan sitting here, am thinking about what to put it in, maybe a new L39

Incidentally I did test it on 12s too, only half charged 4000mah packs but I saw 100A and over 48K rpm, almost 4000 watts. With fully charged 5000mah packs it will be a monster, 50K rpm will be obtainable so make sure that rotor is set up perfect!! (Of course no idea if the motor will take it but results have been pretty good so far in testing)
