Yeah man, it's like uv'e hidden ur cat in dark caves some where......i'm amazed to see that these cats in reality were made to operated from grass fields and city roads n streets....beautiful rugged landing gears!

We all need a little inspiration now and then. He really dropped that Jag onto the road, interesting to see what sort of condition the tarmac was in after takeoff.

Operation Granby anybody? We have the Jag here, I have been working on a Buccaneer plan on and off for ages, now all we need is a Tornado, oh and lots of desert pink paint

Now that would be cool, iv'e also got a 1/9th scale tornado plan half finished that iv'e been working on for a while, they would make a cool trio in pink together.

Sorry for going off track a bit Rich, here's what i have so far with the tornado. 1/9th Bucc would be a good size.

no worries about getting off track Phil. I've been thinking of a Tornado for years. I have plans from an RCM&E magazine from when I was a kid. LOL. in fact, I have ordered a 64mm Tornado from Nitroplanes. as soon as I knew it was coming out, I had to have it, but I'de love a bigger one though, say 90mm.

Sam, those gear are rock solid and I've seen the Jag take off and land on the grass at RAF Cosford, back in the 80's. if you look at the vid of the Jaguar taking off the motorway, we were standing on the right hand side of that bridge. it was just outside Blackpool in 1977 (I believe). I was about 6 or 7 years old and my dad was working on the Concorde program. he was invited by BAC to watch that event and he took me to see it. it was the coolest thing I've ever seen and it began my love of the Cat. I have always wanted to do a ducted fan/turbine version of the Cat and now it's finally here. it's gonna be a pleasure to see it in the air finally. it'll be in the air for next spring no matter what.

Just did some quick calcs, 1:1 Bucc has a span of 13.41m and a length of 19.33m, this puts a 1/9th scale Bucc at a span of 1.49m and length of 2.14 (a good size indeed ), only one problem though, current plans are scaled for 70mm fans and it's only got a span of 1.03m. Scaling that to 1/9th scale means I need 100mm fans

Anyways back to the Jag build, I'll be lurking in the shadows but can't wait to see it fly

unless you build with Depron Frenche. if you do that, you'll still be able to use 70mm fans because of lack of weight. check out the Glocester Javelin build by Pontious, cause it's about the same size as the Bucc you are describing. if I do the Jag out of Depron, I'll be using WM400 MKII 70mm fans and it's roughly that size.

I have these coz at one time i was looking into getting these for my Concorde,
then scale went up from 1:14th to 1:12th, now i'm 90mm EDFs market.
