I was thinking this could be a solo plane for him. Actually, I am hoping it crashes with lots of fun and excitement before it happens. I really could use the storage space

Ahhh Man... why would you want to do that to your 70" Slick?!

well... there's an on-board buddy box you can get that will take any system at all... 72mhz, Futaba, Spek, hitec, etc etc. I has one... works great.

yeh, I have seen that ... almost like two receivers with some switching going on

it will buddy box anything... two receivers and this box go along for the ride. some fool did a review on it...
