I got a chance to fly with Wedgewing and Nacho's again today at there field. It was a great time. wedgewing flew my plane and as always gave some great advice. When I fly with others I seem to hold back. gotta be nerves. I have come a long way in 6 months since I have had my Slick. I was KE'ing and hucking through the grass like Nacho's and Wedgewing. Well, if the grass was 70' tall. I still need to get better at my skills before I break that 10' barrier.
Again! Thanks for the invite. Hopefully buy Huckfest I can fly a little better.
glad you could make it up... other than me pancaking the 68 Velox, and awesome day

I don't want to see video of that but would love to see the weeds on my 55 Edge

Wedge, How bad was the velox damage?

I am trying to figure out the best way to repair my 70" slick. I had the ICE 100 reboot in a harrier (luckily at a pretty high altitude). I think I might have had some servo binding and pulled too much current.

Luckily I got some servo control back on the way to the ground and was able to only rip out the first four bulk heads. I just got the spare bulk heads and LG plate. I was originally going to glue the new bulk heads to the remains of the old ones but now I am thinking it might make sense to find some debonder and replace them completely.

Does Lowes or Home depot sell debonder?

Ahh that sucks on your Slick... You were the first person I thought about when I pancaked..."Damn..now I have to tell Mike I have indeed crashed every plane I own!" :-)

My damage is all on the bottom. It was the landing gear being so awesomely constructed that 7-10 splitted my plane. Bottoms of formers and some sides are toast, but will be fixed. Ben doesn't have nice motor box former kit for the Velox yet.. My motor box is fine, just everything that looked like a plane on the bottom is gone ;-)

You can buy acetone at Home Depot

Acetone is the main ingredient in debonder or nail polish remover.

You can gallon sizes of each at HD or a beauty supply store . I will go to HD or lowes :-)

Mercury makes a debonder I dunk qtips in and apply to the joints I need to open. Whatever stuff they add extra seems to work better than nail polish remover...probably gives you an extra testicle as a side effect, but as long as I can fix this plane what the hell?

Sorry again Mike to hear about the ICE-Over

NP, It was my fault for not validating current draw on the servos before putting it in the air and checking the written instructions that recommended sanding down the sides of the servo arms to prevent binding.

Before Ben mentioned he had spare parts, I went ahead and ordered another 70" FB slick. So, now I am debating whether it will take me less time to fix the one or if I can slap the new one together for flying tomorrow.

Looks like Lowes and HD are both closed. Hopefully they are open tomorrow. Given that, I can probably put the new fuse together faster tonight and grind off the parts of the servo arms that interfere.

Wedgewing slides in on the left to steal some weeds from Nachos.
Turn up the volume and listen as wedgewing rips a whole bunch of weeds out of the ground.
Wedgewing's 55" Edge (0 min 5 sec)
