Radar is not generally considered something an amateur can afford, although I have used GunnPlexor horns to do ranging, there is a modulation input that you apply a ramp voltage too. Here are some links if you have a zillion dollars.

Is this serious, or an afterschool project?

See DIYdrones site for the OSD & AP side of it, and I think Walmart might have your radar addon.

if you would like to do general aerial photography or FPV and fly Fixed-Wing there is one pefect choice . An InertialFlight Stabilization + OSD+GPS combined system.
www.atuav.net/pro_list.asp?Page=2
or if you are in Germany or romania you can find the local professional dealers for these products:
Germay: www.globe-flight.de
Romania:www.sierra.ro

about the Wireless telemetry, you have to find a suitable radio Transceiver which depends on your demands on the radio cotrol scope and distance.

theoretically it's no problem
But I think you'd better show me the picture of your 1/2 scale V1 buzzplane.
and its wingspan

hey! looks good a very cool outlook!! what's you plan with it?
the flight stabilization is based on inertial measuring unit, after receiving measuring data from IMU then output a PID control to each gyros, the gyro of aileron/ gyro of rudder/ gyro of elevator.
for the following different model all available:
normal fixed-wing, delta-winged plane with rudder, delta-winged plane without rudder, V –end plane with aileron, V-end plane without aileron.

it's a control system, what are you going to do with it and what's the function with your airplane is the point.

jglenn,

I had one of those jet motors. When it fired up it scared the beejezus outta me! All that flame shooting out the back and the noise!

I'm afraid you'll end up with lots of bad vibration problems that will likely scramble a 6DOF IMU.

Any V1 built is for just sport flying. Probably small versions, my field will not permit giant scale, no room. The pulsejet vibration did not bother the original gyrocompass system, all mechanical. Modern electronics should be able to be adjusted for this environment. Look at all the vibration of the shuttle when it takes off, how come their platforms don't go haywire??
