Goldman Sachs…3 Open for discussion

Obama like the money….
Obama Doesn’t Intend to Give Back Goldman Donations
http://www.businessweek.com/news/201...-update1-.html
Quote:
April 22 (Bloomberg) -- President Barack Obama doesn’t plan to give back almost $1 million in campaign contributions from employees of Goldman Sachs Group Inc.
Oops… the hand that feeds…
Wall Street to abandon Democrats in future elections?
http://www.cnn.com/2010/POLITICS/04/...reet/?hpt=Sbin
Quote:
They do well with Wall Street, but Democrats may now risk biting the hand that feeds many of them as President Obama and top party leaders press for financial reform.
Both parties play, one gets to play…
Wall Street Pours Money Into Lawmakers' Campaigns
http://www.cbsnews.com/8301-503544_1...83-503544.html
Quote:
While Democrats have sought to tie the GOP to Wall Street, the securities and investment industry has actually given more money to the party in power during the 2010 election cycle. Sixty-two percent of the money from that industry has gone to Democrats, and 37 percent to Republicans.
Of course dems want the money…
Democrats happy to keep Goldman contributions
http://www.independent.co.uk/news/wo...s-1951967.html
Ah the spin… we got it from the little people… yeah sure buddy
Quote:
The Democratic party said it would not be reimbursing almost $1m of campaign contributions from Goldman employees to Mr Obama, and candidates in this year's mid-term elections are resisting calls to return the money. "We have not accepted contributions from specific individuals accused of wrongdoing," a spokesman said, "nor have we advocated for positions that big Wall Street banks generally favour."
How the debate is not reform, its about giving back the money
Battles Break Out Over Goldman Donations
http://blogs.wsj.com/washwire/2010/0...man-donations/

Finally, something that points to where this is headed… HINT…
Well-connected Goldman Sachs uniquely positioned to fight fraud allegations
http://thehill.com/business-a-lobbyi...-fight-charges
Quote:
The government’s fraud case does pose the clearest test yet to the 141-year-old bank’s storied political power, reputation and savvy. To succeed, the firm will have to do two things seemingly very much at odds: vigorously fight the charges, which it calls “completely unfounded in law and effect,” and continue to cozy up to Washington’s power players.
Oh my… lookie here… OMG look at Obama’s team…
Quote:
Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner’s chief of staff, Mark Patterson, is a former Goldman lobbyist. Ex-Goldman employee Gary Gensler is chairman of the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC), which will gain new power over the multitrillion-dollar derivatives market. Diana Farrell, deputy director of the White House’s National Economic Council, once worked at Goldman. Former Goldman head Henry Paulson served as Treasury secretary under the George W. Bush administration.
Ya think really… really its about reform… nope…
New York Lawmakers Rank Highest in Goldman Donations
http://www.businessweek.com/news/201...-update1-.html
Quote:
Mark Kirk, the congressman competing against Giannoulias for the seat once held by Obama, ranks sixth for donations from Goldman employees, the center’s data shows. The top five are Democratic Congressman Michael McMahon of New York, Republican Senator Richard Shelby of Alabama, and three other New York Democrats: Senator Kirsten Gillibrand, Representative Scott Murphy and Senator Charles Schumer.
Need more about how Dems are good for reform … (sic)
Democrats Haunted by Corporate Ties
http://www.commondreams.org/headline/2010/04/21-2
Quote:
President Barack Obama and congressional Democrats are promising a climactic clash with Wall Street, but there's a complication in their battle plan: The Democratic Party is closer to corporate America - and to Wall Street in particular - than many Democrats would care to admit.
And finally the picture of the day…

Thing about that Goldman Sachs SEC suit is.... it isn't a lawsuit - it's a stage prop. It was never intended to result in a fine or a settlement or punishment; it was meant to be tried in the court of public opinion at the correct time to further the 'rats plan to seize another big chunk of the economy. The TV media is complicit and obedient, and will follow right along dutifully spewing the talking points they're given, and not ask any questions. And the useful idiots will accept what they hear at face value, conveniently not needing to do any of their own thinking.

Someone once said, "the price of liberty is constant vigilance". When you're too lazy to remain vigilant, I suppose you no longer deserve the liberty anyway. Oh well.

Obama's Presidency reminds me of a heart in fibrillation. Its working like hell it just isn't doing anything productive to keep the body alive.

Maybe it is the results of Acornitis. Unless a lot of money is coming in without any work being required, it dies without ever growing.

Well it needs to go a lot further than just elections. Our media, schools (both k-12 and universities), and pop culture need a giant shot of penicillin to knock back the raging VD that is liberalism's encroachment

Many agree... but it continues with defeating the framework. Here’s what I mean… in the face of links of just today, and the track record for congress… and buying google search terms to redirect traffic to Obama’s campaign web site… a majority see things in a new light.

Hope and change is underway… again… just to remind the Libs…

What, the reality finally stats to creep into some individuals' perception of world consisting mostly of GOP-induced delusions? Isn't it kind of late? The fact that it is Democrats representing fiscal responsibility in modern America has not been a secret for anyone for quite a while. This is in fact the main reason American Conservatives have been switching from Republican to Democrat party en-masse for all this time, despite the desprate and silly attempts of the GOP and its trolls to highjack the name. Wall Street crooks hate fiscal conservatism, which is why as the American Conservatives rush to the Democrat side, the crooks will frantically attempt to find the refuge under the wing of GOP. And they will find it, no doubt.

Not a single shred of reality... not even an attempt to address the many links from many sources that contradict your post... and somehow you expect me to add something to refute you? Perhaps a few lib buds will come along and throw you a life line... but your post is.. well...

Done in November...

Obama said the proposal would enable the government to close failing financial institutions without hurting the economy, limit the risks they run and require more openness in the trading of sophisticated products called derivatives

Democrats Aim to Tap Populist Anger in High-Court Fight
http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2010...h-court-fight/
Quote:
The touchstone of the Democratic strategy is the court's January ruling in Citizens United v. Federal Election Commission, which struck down restrictions on corporate spending on election campaigns. Democrats cite polls showing broad public disapproval of the ruling as evidence of growing anxiety about the court's direction.

"These certainly look like scare tactics to me, a warning that either Wall Street is with the Obama administration or against it," muttered one senior banker. "No CEO in their right mind is going to come out against whatever the president says, and I think this will play out all behind the scenes in Washington."
