I don't know of any directly in Boston, but I can give you the low-down of what I know in the area. I don't claim this to be a 100% comprehensive list, just the hobby stores I have been to and know of. I live north of Boston, so all of these places are further north. It seems like there's a dead-zone of hobby stuff right around where I am.

I think the closest to Boston is Alex's RC Hobbyworks in Belmont. Alex is really nice, and his store is well stocked. You can tell he's into RC.

Further out there's Pratt Hobby in Georgetown, it's a smaller shop, but really nice guys there. They do RC truck racing in a nearby school, and are into the hobby.

Little further still is Hobby Fever in Billerica. It's a relatively big hobby store and everybody there has been nice.

RC Buyer's Warehouse in Nashua, NH is a very well-stocked hobby store, they even have depron foam sheets for scratch-build foamies. Everybody that works there is knowledgeable and friendly. I've done a lot of business there.

I have not gone to, but have heard a lot about RC Excitement in Fitchburg. They have a few offroad/onroad tracks there even, so there's lots of people there.

That's what I know of.

Thank you J. The contract in Boston is over, I'm now in NY and then headed back to florida next week. Good luck to you and thanks again for the information.

Sorry it was too late to use. The Boston area is in a bit of an RC void it seems sometimes.

Hobby Shops in Boston

There is a new hobby store in the Boston Area -- Dabblers hobbies+cafe. They have an extensive line of r/c vehicles and all the replacement parts you might ever need. If they don't have it in the store they are very good about ordering stuff, especially Karl. And they have great sandwiches and coffee and Warhammer, too.

The brands/products they carry include: Blade helicopters, Park Zone, Firebird Stratos RTF, Blade Huey Gunship, hobby zone, etc...

check them out at 119 Commonwealth Eve in West Concord MA 01742. (978) 254-5798 or dabblersconcord.com

Don't you mean "we"?

If you're going to advertise on a forum, be upfront and honest about who you are, people respect that.

BOSTON “REGION” Hobby Shops

Boston is not your “hotbed” of hobby shops.
Nevertheless, if you’re willing to drive, you can find quite a bit of product and some reasonably knowledgeable people.

Here are a few places to consider (in no particular order):

http://www.rccarsofboston.com/ or http://www.spadaforachoppers.com/rc-cars.asp
RC Cars of Boston is in Malden and they have a track. 781-324-1999

http://abcrchobbies.com/
ABC Hobbies is in Windham, NH. (no sales tax!) 603-458-6481

http://www.rcexcitement.com/
RC Excitement is in Fitchburg and they have both indoor and outdoor tracks
978-342-3374

http://www.rcbuyerswarehouse.com/
RC Buyer’s Warehouse is in Nashua, NH and has already been commented upon (no sales tax!) 603-595-2494

http://www.turn4hobbies.com/
Turn4Hobbies is very near Worcester, in West Boylston. The owner is always there and got his start based on an interest in cars/trucks. He’s branched out and is very efficient with special orders. The store isn’t huge but he’s willing to do repairs, paint bodies, etc. – and worth supporting. (I’ve done some business there.) 774-261-8191 Sign up with them for a newsletter with specials and a frequent buyer discount.

Hobby Quarters (or RC Hover) has been recommended highly by a few people. They’re located in Foxboro and I understand that they have a “raceway” and a field. This is their Facebook page (with specials and a photo of the store).
