Got the wheel well cut out. I'll determine the final shape when I get the strut doors.
Still needs a lttle camber adjustment, but it's good for now.
The H 32 is only 39 inches according to the spec sheet

Yes we do. They $9.50, but not on the web page yet.

Please note that they are for a 1/8" (3.17mm) shaft.
The distance from hole to hole, is .625" (15.88mm)

Please PM me if you need a couple.

Habu 32:
  • Motor Size: DF 32 Brushless Motor 2150Kv
  • Overall Length: 49.5 in (1250mm)
  • Plane Type: Ducted FanPower
  • Plant Size: 25-52 Electric

I had compared it to the other 70mm Jets, that I had near me, that were close to the same same size as the F-20
The 32 is a 80mm jet, so it's really not in the same class.

Yeah, I build pretty slow.

Only got about an hour on this today.
The retracts/struts are both in.
With a bit of shimming, the fore/aft strut angle and the camber is pretty square (parallel), with just a touch of toe in.

Getting the tailerons lined up for glueing the pivot bearing tubes.

It's beginning to look like a jet now.

Thanks Brent, that means a lot coming for you.

I'm thinking either, the Mach EDF with a 3200kv motor on 4s. (and 5s by just changing the battery)

or

The Wemotec Minifan pro with a 3300 kv motor on 4s. (and 5s by just changing the battery)

Thanks Super.
It's time consuming to take all the photos and upload. Many of them will go into the manual. But, yes they will be good reference until then.

Here's a few more.
you see the canopy "frame" in some of the pictures here. The "canopy" needs to be cut out of the frame, and there will be clear canopy pieces formed by A.S.

It's time to do a "scale" jet for once.
I need something I can see, and although the BMW "Graphite Grey" is sharp looking, it often goes black in photos and video's.

It'll be this one. (the one with the "tail #.....not "F-20" on the tail)
I read that an F-20 design official, once said about the red/white scheme....."it looks like a dam sport jet!"...... Sooo, i'm not far off my usual, anyway.

I have this plastic kit that I'll use for scale size reference for making small details like antenna's and such.
Maybe do the cockpit as well.

sweet gary!! hey, how about the same setup we flew in the prototype? HET fan, and the cool 42?(or equivelant mega) with 1400W, that thing did 145 flat and level on 4s, and would go straight up after takeoff, and its a fairly light setup.....

Congratulations guys, this is one amazing project. One day, I'll be in for sure.

I'm coming for a trip over the pond in July, and this time, I'm hoping to finally see the F-20 at the Science Center, along with the Shuttle of course.

Shame the F-20 never made it into production. There would have been some great scale schemes to dress these up in. I love the Navy aggressor F5 schemes which would have been awesome on an F-20.

Cheers
Steve
