I believe that following a flock of birds is ok but not driving right through them. You are sharing the sky with them and being the "intelligent" species you should have avoided or stayed outside for safety and humane reasons

It's too bad they weren't a more aggressive bird. They should have torn your Bix apart.
Please they are just birds, I do the same thing with buzzards all the time. They even come out now when I go flying to glide along in the sky with me. Granted when I throttle up they tend to flee. then the chase is on.

I have followed birds but I do not get too close, I don't care so much about the tons of seagulls and other rat birds around here, though they are big enough to cause me lots of money in damage so I don't get very close to them :P.

Only thing I see missing to make it a complete system is a power supply for that big 10a charger, heck you could charge 4 of those batteries at once with that thing at full 1C and still have some power left over :P.

The ESC is an OK choice, though I would also use a 3A switching UBEC instead of the built in one of the ESC, also you should get a 6x4 prop as the stock prop is not the best.

The ESC has a linear BEC. You want an ESC with switchmode BEC ( less heat generated when stepping down the voltage). Keep shopping.

A couple of the items are out of stock.

Turnigy Plush ESC's tend to treat people well, I am using an Opto 40A-50A from HK currently and I love this ESC, it doesn't even get WARM :P (The larger the ESC is in capacity above that which is required will mean less heat), though I wouldn't use anything any bigger then I am using, then you are just wasting weight :P.

As per the charger, I picked that one bc. it has some grow room. But if thats just way to much wiggle room. Whats a good cheaper one to start with? I saw a ton on ebay but I am scared to get some crap that catches my house on fire. What are y'alls thoughts..

It's a good charger, just realize you will need a good power supply for it, that thing will need a 12v 10amp supply which isn't going to be easy to find, BUT you can put any 12v supply on there just don't ever try to charge any higher then what the supply is rated, I.E. if you have a 2A supply don't use more then 2 amps in charging...

I have the 5 amp version of that same charger, but I only have a 3.25 amp power supply, I am still looking for a good 5amp supply myself :P

Remember the easily forgotten items, like connectors etc! its a pain when these are forgotten.
Also get some 6x4 props.
Thats all I can think of for now

If you are talking about wiring connectors (motor to ESC) you'd buy a set of three 3 mm connectors with male-female pieces. You can buy them at HeadsupRC where they have good prices and unbelievably reasonable shipping prices.

If you buy your batteries from Hobbyking you'd probably get them with XT60 (yellow) female connector. You need a male one to solder to the ESC.
