For those FPV'ing with bixlers, where are you mounting your Vtx and battery? I run a seperate video battery (1000mAh 3s) which I'd lazily put above the 2200 flight battery, quite far forward. I'd mounted the vtx just in front of the vertical stab. The thing flew like an absolute dog and I had a real hard time gaining attitude with sufficient elevator authority unless I was > 2/3rds throttle. Then flew too close to a tree, and the thing dropped with it's heavy nose.

Any advice appreaciated.

Wow, that's way different than the RTF SS I got from Tim at RMRC. I have a V1.

I'm sorry if this has been answered already. The thread was pretty big to find it.
I 'm a newbie to Bixler and I am trying to re purpose my HK TX and RX ( http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s...042&aff=106965 ) which I have used successfully on Delta wing type scratch built plane.
The problem is now I have few more channels on Bixler and wondering what wire goes where on the Receiver. My receiver have Ch1, Ch2 to Ch6. But doesn't say like Rudder, Throttle etc..Any help would be appreciated.
Thank you all in advance.

Or
can it be a cheap heli head lock gyro?
Hey fps,

I use Detrum GY48v on my PZ P-51 on windy days, but plan on adding one to my Bixler. I turn it on to 30% rate mode using my gear switch on TX:
http://www.hobbypartz.com/60p-dy-1017.html

... just a cheap gyro with headlock and rate mode, you'll need rate mode for an airplane, headlock isn't much use.

I don't know anything about the HK ones, but this thread has all the info needed: http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1035605

I think this is right:

CH1 - Ailerons
CH2 - Elevator
CH3 - throttle
CH4 - Rudder

Thanks Wirewolf, appreciate your comments. I put a tremendous amount of time & effort into this build log in hopes that it would help a number of people complete their build/mods many of the problems that I (as a newbie) had to overcome.

In fact, I had hoped () that this build log might even be good enough that it would be considered to have it's link added to pg #1. But alas, I fell short, not even an honorable mention or a job well down by our moderator. So maybe my hope to help many will become help for a few that happened to set my blog post. Looks like a hard club to gain membership too, for some anyway.. My $.02 FWIW.

Oops. That is a headlock gyro. I do not know if it will run as a rate gyro. The only gryo I have used is the EK2-0704 (note: NO "B") which is a rate gyro. It looks like THIS. They are getting hard to find. There are a couple of rate gyros from HK. But, I have never used them and I know nothing about them. Anybody have any feedback to help ozair??
AJ
UPDATE: This might help. I have never tried it.

I built a little copycat pod, and thy Vtx sits in the back of the pod. I use a 450mah 3s and it just sits on top of the flight battery (1300mah 3s). Flies like a dream.

No, it's in Georgia -- that's the Florida state line in the background.
You should've known that from the mass exodus in progress. (Word spread quickly.)

The pushcart is a peanut vendor. Furthermore, it's actually a state vehicle.
