FWIW, Banana Pete has released the first of what he says is gonna be a series - "Learn To Fly R/C With Pete!". And guess what he's using for the demo craft! Why, his all time favorite aeroplane.....and yours & mine!
For your viewing pleasure, and amusement:
To be serious for a moment (my apologies in advance)....Ol' Petey makes note near the beginning of the popularity of the SkySurfer (and it follows, tacitly, the Bixler). From the things we see when we look up either on UToob - meaning the proliferation of available videos wherein these are the subject vehicle - I'd guesstimate they are either already or quickly reaching a point where they'll be the most popular / best-selling plane in RC history. Anybody that would argue that point? And after all, just LOOK at it. It's a beautiful plane, flies beautifully, very capable of mild- to mid-level aerobatics, pretty doggone durable, and equally capable as FPV workhorse or just a nice li'l sky-ripper -- and lord knows, they've hit some nice price points. Consider the number of very experienced RC'rs that are both flying and recommending them to others. I've not had mine out at our field but 4 or 5 times now, and every time it's drawn nice comments and/or questions. And after all, what's NOT to like!?! ![]()

Come on folks
For those who have never built or flew an RC. This video had a lot of great info. We are trying to interest NEW FOLKS into this great world of RC. Let the lad do his thing. I am 77 years old. Never tooooo old to learn new tricks. I for one am looking forward to many more of his step by step, learning to fly. To pass on to several of my friends who have yet to lay down the $$$$$ to learn to fly. I REMEMBER WAY BACK WHEN. For those of you who may not have been checked out in a SET INSIDE AIRPLANE. While learning to fly, WHEN I WAS THINKING THAT I WAS A HOT SHOT AND KNEW IT ALL. My flight instructor got to be a PAIN IN YOU KNOW WHAT once in a while. One day while stationed in Wichita, Ks. The Lear Jet was a new, hot Buzz. jet. At that time the Lear Co. was permoting that this plane could be piloted by the Co. owner, Did not need a Corp. Pilot. So one day, got one of many rides in this new bird. I was setting in the back, while the Corp. Owner was getting checked out by one of Lear Corp. check pilots. It became clear to me that this Multi-$$$$$$$$$$$$$ owner, pilot was being treated just like This POOR BOY , setting in the back seat, when I was flying my J-3 Cub. Must have been a message there. YEP, I passed that test. Lets all enjoy the flying SARG5 FLYING AND SEEING THE COUNTRY WE DEFEND. |
