I don't have the brushed version or know what esc it comes with. But I have a few Easy Star motors and a Wild Hawk brushed motor and they are all 6 volt motors. With a 2 cell 7.2 lipo, it's already pushing it to 8.4 volts. (it says 7.2 or 7.4 but it charges to 8.4). A 3 cell charges to 12.6 volts and will power the motor for a bit but will wear it out very quickly,.
The best way to increase power is to upgrade to a brushless motor and esc.
If it's higher capacity your after the use a 2200 2 cell and position it in the plane as not to change the COG.

Thanks. I'm looking for longer flights and a heavier battery (wanna take out the washers). What will the brushless motor do for me?

A brushless motor tends to give more power and a longer run time .
I went playing in the wind again today 25 gusting to 35 put a little twist on it this time let me know what ya think . I had it sliding sideways and skidding in down wind turns . I actually had it flying backwards inverted but didnt get the ground in the picture . You can see where it ends it up though . Had a Blast !!

Why do they say 3ch and 4ch? Do they all come with ailerons? I don't understand why they would be advertising 3ch if it is a 4ch RTF (unless they are trying to pull a fast one).

When you get the RTF (with radio and all) are all the servos pre-installed?

Does it have unlimited vertical with the brushless upgrade?

Well, it will help. But, a larger battery (1500mah) will do it for you.

I like those you linked to in your post. They are nylon and MUCH lighter. Very good find.

Yeah, I found them by looking for all sort of locks, hook, latches, catches, using Google Image.

They are called "double roller catch nylon" and you can find them on ebay.

FredS,

I liked your streamer video, but am more interested in the mods. Did you flush mount your battery on top.? Is the ESC exposed for cooling? Was this covered in any posts? Can you add a few photos?

Thanks.

Thanks
I used some of the mods from this thread . I put the ESC on top for cooling and convenience. that also allowed more room inside encase I needed a larger battery .
I use a Gene Ace 1300 3S with no other weight added and I do not use the washers either I use the stock brushless motor with a 6x4 apc prop .
I have to say AJ has done an outstanding job of keeping up with the mods he adds them to Post's #1 & #2 . I think between those two posts you could get all or most question's answered
