It's an Osborn portable computer. I am now subscribed to the thread, thanks. What's odd is I asked Headplay support and they never mentioned the transcoder. Funny.

WOW. I worked for a major computer retailer in the '80's (not radio shack think micro center) Was in on the ground floor for everything PC. Yet that dang Osborn, I used to love to play with it even though in 1984 it was obsolete (O.S. etc.) Wish I would have kept it. Then I sold Compaq and they were bigger than a suit case. Made a lot of $ selling them to state auditors though.

On topic, I know I'm new to this group. Trying to read quickly. I've seen the reinforcements. Seems, you all are putting a CF rod on the bottom. The EZ* has a channel through the boom where a CG rod fits perfect. IS that present in the Sky Surfer or should I just follow along with u all and embed it in the bottom of the boom?

Todd
Yes Gene. it's only a sprain. a couple warm packs and good as new.

The channel in the bottom fits the CF perfectly.

The Osborn is in response to Gene joking about how slow my computer is.

The transcoding worked it just takes a long time for a 5 minute video. The on board key cam video plays just fine in the Headplay liberator.

usless motor??

[QUOTE=2500GENE;16597576]The present kit version minus the useless motor.

Or, the basic airframe alone.

I don't think they will shave much off the price if they take the motor out, after all the plane with motor was only $40.00
Here's what I did with the stock BL motor that came with mine
Jr.Hawk/Wildhawk c/w SkySurfer BL Motor (4 min 47 sec)

I'll take all of these I can get for nothing

The lipos is 3S 1300. I don't know the KV of the brushless motor.

Yes. A 3mm worked great for me. But, I guess a 4mm would work too. Your choice.

KV of BL motor from BH

I have two of those motors. I bought 2 ARF's. One arrived as an RR, the other was the expected ARF. The measured Kv of both motors was 2042 and 2015 respectively (with no load on the output shaft at all). Therefore, I am certain that they are rated as 2000kv motors. I hope this helps.
BTW - The RR that they sent me had that exact LiPo. IMO, it is the perfect battery for the SkyS. But, I am sure each person has a different favorite LiPo for their setup. This is one of those situations that has a lot of "right" answers (about the batteries).

I am very sorry. I did not see your post. Of course, I will yield to you and not start a bidding war and get someone upset. But, I would like to know if it is BL. For me, a brushed motor is of no value except as a paperweight. But, even if it is a BL motor, I promise you that I will not get involved. I am sure 2500Gene will vouch for me in that regard.

Wow! I did not realize that you were using a 2 cell Lipo. SAGATO with a 2S on a Jr. Hawk. I don't know about anyone else, but, I am impressed. Nicely done. I had to watch it twice just so I could believe my eyes.
