P-51 Mustang

Just wanted to post some links to my latest purchase, it's such a good deal!

It's a 4ch P-51 Mustang that comes with props, brushed motor and gearbox and servo rods and horns.

Here's where I bought it for, after shipping and CDN conversion, $60 bucks!

I will pull out the motor and will add the same setup as my Cessna so a 20amp ESC with a 1530kv Tower pro brushless motor, this one here for $10 bucks shipped:

It's all good! The price I paid is for the ARF version so it will be spektrumized. All I need to add is the RX and servos but I will change the motor too just because I already have it.

Dude, I'm just gonna say it: planes are way better than helis (IMHO).

Not only do your lipos last double+ the time, planes are sooooo much cheaper than helis and parts and all that junk and the foam ones are much more forgiving when you crash them. You can also do wind like you never could before.

I'm so pumped right now because I just got back from flying the Cessna....flags were Horizontal, 18km/hr winds, no probs

I love my Cessna!!

PS: My helis are crying, havn't been out of the box in over a month now

In a lot of ways I agree with you but helis are still fun and I love my cx3. I am working on a movable search light for my cx2 lol
I plan on getting a Parkzone Habu this summer as well

P

Lol

Dude first off you need a vapor - they are awesome planes but get th new night vapor cause flying outside at night is great.

I have been talking to the guys in the Habu thread and they tell me that the Habu is a great first EDF and flies very well and is not overly difficult either, plus it can handle some winds like 10 kms/h or more which is perfect for me.

It's the Parkzone night Vapor - very much like the original but a little shorter nose and it comes with ligjt kit. It's mainly meant for indoors but I fly min outside on calm days. Very slow and relaxing 3 ch but it can do some stunts.

P-51 Mustang

Well, I picked it up yesterday and spent the evening putting it all together. I pulled out the stock motor and dropped the 1530kv brushless motor. My ailerons are on the furthest hole out for maximum movement. I added two AA batteries for nose weight as I am using a 3s lipo that weighs less than the original Nicad pack. I still had enough light, (here in the Yukon), at 10:04 pm to head out for the maiden. It took right off nicely and all it needed was a little trim on the elevator. She seems faster to me than my 4ch Cessna but landing was way easier as the wheels are so far apart.

I also want to point out that the LG is much nicer than that in the video on the first post of this blog. THe gear that came with it will not tire from metal fatigue.

Videos coming in a bit.

Nice plane, I'm happy with the price. $56 bucks shipped for the plane with four props and control rods. All I had to do was to trim the length of wood off of the nose to fit my BL motor, add servos, RX and lipo and up it went.

Looks really nice and has a magnatized hatch for quick lipo changes.

PS: Have a look at the second picture......I'm having a hard time storing my planes and the two big ones aren't even built yet.
How do you guys store your planes?

Well, if you scan the "blogs" for new postings there are usually a few pics of how guys store their stuff. I've got a few pics on mine.

You reach a point where you need designated aircraft storage and maintenance areas...it is a good problem to have really...

Hang them from the ceiling like night flyer does or hang them on display like you might with a model airplane
