What size do you use on the SHP ? I am getting a Hobbico LIFE 2100 2morrow . I have 4 x HS-7955TG's , 1 x DS8611a and 1 x HS-5625MG in my 30% Yak . Got a 6v reg. too . Can you run those on a regulator if you want ?
Wondering how many flights I could get on the 2100 . I was getting a 1100 for my Mojo40 . I have 5 digitals on it .

I have a 2300 in my shp.I believe I miss stated tho,the one in the SHP is another brand.Sorry for the miss info.I dont see why you cant run them on a regulator. But I am not the one to ask.I run mine straight to the rx and run 5 hyperion servos with it.I will fly 6-8 flights before recharging. Now,my shp is electric powered so mileage may vary if you are flying 15-20min flights on a gas plane.Thing is,if ya wanted to ,you can get 2 or 3 of those packs, charge them up before going to the field, then swap em out mid day if back to back flying is going on and ya dont wanna charge.
I will probly replace mine with a bigger life pack very soon.Mine is a year old now.The voltage varies a little under load.never goes below 6.2,but fluctuates some.

LiFePo4 chemistry peaks at 3.7v per cell, 3.3v is the nominal voltage, but it quickly settles down to that. You don't want to run a cell below about 2.7v. The drop off voltage is very quick past this point.

LiFePo4 is great on my e-bike. I'm unsure if I'd want to fly with it where the extra ounces really matter.

I just got a Life 2s1700mah receiver pack for my Logo 500 heli today. I didn't trust the onboard BEC that my ESC has so I figured this pack was the way to go. Here is a question, can I leave it in my model hooked up without worrying about it draining like a Nimh pack?

Self discharge is almost non-existent. It will be ready for you next time you fly. Obviously it must be switched so it is not providing power to anything.

So Manta, you are using the Hobico 1100 without a regulator for your rx/servos and not having any issues? I'm just looking for confirmation that I can go that route with a Dave Patrick Ultimate 40 that I am using Hitec HS-225MG's.

Thanks,

Lars

yes no regulator and no issues. My 3dhs 70 AJ slick has the same setup and my buddies 2 slipstream mxs's and 68 velox has same rx packs as well.
I am not sure about the 225 servos tho,a pm to Mike Mayberry would probly resolve youre quesion.

I ran my 6.6volt Life receiver pack yesterday for just one flight in my Flybarless 550mm Heli for 5 min and it only used 118mah from the 1700mah receiver pack. I am thinking I can get at least 10 5 min flights with the pack before I need to recharge it.

Thanks,

Lars

If there anything like Futaba they will not endorse use of the Life packs on there equiptment . I called Tower and they wouldn't give me any compatiblity info . They said they only sell them to give us another option . But they wont approve for use on any of there products cause the packs say 6.6volts . I even told them the Nimh charge to a higher voltage . That made them stuble on there words but they still stuck to there guns . Hitec might be a little better since they sell high voltage servos .
