Polar researchvessel Aurora

Hi all,

May I present my latest project:

It's the ship that took Tintin and his friends on an expidition to find a meteorite that fell in the polar sea. From the comic strip 'The adventures of Tintin, The Shooting Star' by Hergé

You can find a build report here:
http://www.modelbouwforum.nl/forums/...ip-aurora.html

Alltough in dutch, the images speak for themselves.
Cheerz, A!H.

Hi Archibald great build. I hadn't been on the Dutch forum for a while, didn't notice it. I've always liked this episode of the adventures of Kuifje Boo

Nice ship and an interesting build site. Language is a lot of moot's and hoot's but I could understand the pics ok.
Lots of molding on this model. Life boats look great as do the air intakes and the anchors. That's very nice work in my highly regarded opinion.
Great pictures too. I likethat. Pete

Very nice. Do you have any photos from the build? What did you base the hull on?

Thanks Steve,
The hull is based on a German steamtrawler of a type that was conceived for long fishing trips around Iceland.
You can find pictures in a build report I posted here:
