Well in my pure obsession (ya I've got issues) to make this bird a bit more scale looking and more slippery in the air, I've decided to smooth out the nozzles for better airflow and appearance.

1) Cut out cardboard strips
2) Glue strips to nozzles
3) Paint

Not a very huge mod but I think this will benefit speed and outright looks. I've still got to paint the ring silver as shown in the picture of the real Mig-29 but it doesn't get easier than this...

only have an 8ch control Turnegy 9X so some thing has to give i guess.

this is what i was thinking below

CH 1, 2, 3, 4 control surfaces and esc
5 gear
6 flaps on the rotate thingo
7 smoke
8 drag chute

whats every one else running there set up as? maybe the lights can run all the time?

I removed the drag chute and smoke simply because they are cool but a bit silly. I also sealed up my flaps/slats (they look functional on my model but aren't) as the plane lands so slowly without them that I wanted to save the weight.

I use 7 channels total

Tho) Throttle
Ail) Ailerons (on a Y cable)
Ele) Elevator Right
Rudd) Rudders and steering
Gear) Retracts
Aux 1) Nose wheel gear door
Aux 2) Elevator Left

actually I think this is a good model for tailerons. we are flying one with conventional setup and ailerons are small and sluggish I have been thinking about setting it up to get roll rate a little crispier
