Return to Carrizo Gorge

We went back out to Corrizo Gorge this Saturday and scored some more big laps. Not the best footage, and aside from the speeds being yelled out there are some cool sounds coming off the Blast over ~150mph.

How do I get to the Gorge? I have a Pike that needs some speed.

Follow these directions, then turn right at the "B" marker and follow the road to the base of the mountain. (see attached picture) If you pass a small cave (mine-shaft) on the left, you've gone past the road.
Park your car at the base of the mountain and hike up the side/frontside of the mountain (see other picture) to the ridge and don't forget anything in the car.

It's probably blowing everyday up there. I'll go check it out.

Thanks

Some days more than others (like yesterday would've been a record day for sure).

Let me know if you're thinking about going out... I might join you.

Spencer....

I just rebuilt a 53" JW which needs to fly fast. Parker is too far, Weldon, et. al., also too far. So, maybe this Gorge will be considerably closer and consistent. I don't need high winds to have fun, I like clipping around at 100-150.

Congrats on your recent WR!

What kind of winds do you get at the gorge on a big day? Looks like a sweet ridge. By the way, isn't that near where all the mountain lion attacks occur?

Well, I've only been up there twice... and without an anemometer. But, both times the weather stations down in the valley at the town of Boulevard were measuring 20-30mph with gusts to 40. At the ridge I'd say it was closer to 40 gusting to 50 on the bigger day.
Or, almost strong enough to lean into and not fall over with my bean-pole of a figure.

who agrees that Saturday looks pretty good, if not a little wet...
