#8 The CoG should be 30mm not 30cm. Also, I thought there was some discussion on this with the 5.1? I fly the V4 wings so I have mine set at 30mm and it flies fine but I thought that there were other folks flying the newer wings and setting it closer to the servo wiring?

Hi Hector

I've done about 20 flights with 2 x 5Ah 3s batteries, I can reach a total of 40km. I've received 2 x 5Ah 4s this week, but was going to try it on my 1900 setup, but I'm waiting on a missing right wing. I'll probably run out of patience and try it on my 1680. No special mods but I think I should CF strip my wings.

Hey that works fine, I was using 4 2200mah and about 4 months I start to use 2 5000mah, just make sure that are 15c that is more then enouth and low weight, with that you will have 10000mah and less weight to fly. Hope it work for you, it does for me.

Thanke Mike,
I did read that. I will probably set it about 15mm back on the first try.

Hi Jeff

I take it you want to have the I-beams from the wingtips inwards? Have you considered using another I-beam in the middle of the wing instead of the extra spar? Unless you make up some kind of jig, it would be pretty hard to get everything perfectly straight. If you have a good eye you should be fine having putting the extra spar in, but it seems that going that way is harder and has more that can go wrong than using extra I-beams. The only major advantage I can see to using the second 10mm spar is that you can keep the wing halves separate, and as your already going to glue the wings together, I'd just use the I-beam. Between the tape, I-beams and whatever else you plan on doing, your wing should be plenty strong.

Do you use 2x 4s 5000mAh or 2x 3s 5000mAh ?

I have 1x 4s 5000mAh but would like to add one more, but I also have a RVOSD inside my plane, so I'm not sure how to fit 2x 4s 5000mAh inside my plane, without removing the RVOSD.

I use 2 X 3s 5000mAh not 4s, and it is working pretty good.

So what's the verdict on the version 5 CoG? I'm flying mine about 12mm back from the servo wire channel and it still drops its bum in turns, I'm thinking of trying a bit further back.

Think about that... that would indicate to me that the CG is too far aft....

The attitude that the plane flies at, has more to do with wing incidence, and very little
to do with CG. However, a severely nose heavy plane would need to fly
at a higher angle of attack (inefficiently) and tail would be lower.
However it's normal for the Skywalker to fly with a bit of a nose down stance.
It flies fine that way, so no need to obsess about it.

What really matters when trying to dial in the CG, is how the pitch changes
across a wide speed range, and how efficient it is in a glide.

Skywalker Container

Somewhere in the 900 plus pages of the Skywalker thread, I saw a plastic shipping/storage container the the Skywalker fit into. Could someone help with finding the picture of the container.

Thanks,
Hector

Don't you mean fore? If I move the CG aft it will become less tail heavy won't it? Or am I confused?
