you can't plan safety basing on other people's accidents, if I can make it safer I make it.. even if no one has never been hitted by an fpv plane, I don't have to wait for that to start thinking about safety. I'm happy that there are no major fpv crash, that means we're in the right direction already.

I read a post on the HobbyKing forum where Jason said he had the SkyWalker on order. Should be interesting to see what price they come up with.

Got another flight in over the weekend but still not FPV. Just wanted to test a couple other things. One thing I did find was with the AP2000i stabilization on, I can make rudder controlled turns without having to add elevator or aileron manually. The AP2000i does it on its own. Very cool! I recorded the flight with the osd info this time (first flight I accidentally turned the osd off without knowing it). I was trying to find the slowest realistic cruise speed and it seems to be 30-35mph, which is better than I was expecting. This should be even better when my new batteries arrive as they will be 1300mah lighter.

I still got a bit of "jello" in the video and have reconfigured the cam mount with some more "Moon Gel". It seems to be better now. I also had the focus off and have that fixed now too. The video link will be better as well as I didn't have the video RX out in the open and antennas setup optimally.

Anyway, had several people asking about the plane as I flew it during a fun fly at our club. Seems like FPV is becoming more and more popular.

Here is the video. Kinda boring but good data from the OSD. FYI, temp A is my ESC temp and temp b is the ambient interior temp. Oh, and the batteries came out as cool as they went in.

The 2 or 3 turns starting at approx 5:20 are with the AP2000i controlling leveling in the turn.

Thanks. yeah I really compressed it to keep it small to upload as there was really nothing to see in the background. The cam lens wasn't focused correctly either. Hopefully the next one will be better.

Skywalker first FPV (4 min 7 sec)

My first FPV flight with the skywalker.
In a nutshell. If this thing could lose some weight (longer nose) it would be fantastic. It flies like a very stable twinstar2.

wavy picture comes from either the esc or the motor (rotating magnetic fields) I like it but I know this plane has more to offer. I might hack it and extend the nose

I still haven't started mine yet, so from reading people adventures with the SW in the last couple of posts I have 2 choices now, either:

I put electronics and everything in the most forward location possible

or

I sell the thing :P
